I HAVE said numerously before that the greatest impediment to the progress and growth of the construction professions in Kenya is the parochial and proprietary view of the sector by a clique cabal. This proposed legislation is ludicrous, and any sane person in the built environment needs to stand up against. Let me show why:
Seeing a problem & understanding it are two different things.
If the policy is the problem you change it.
If compliance with rules & regulations is the problem you change the management.
What problem is this bill solving?
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT MACHINE CUT STONES.
Najua nikiongea mnaniona kama dwanzi kabisaa.
1. We have three standard sizes of Ndarugo Machine Cut Stones
· Size 200mm*200mm*400mm (9*9)
· Size 200mm*150mm*400mm (6*9)
· Size 200mm*100mm*400mm (4*9)
2. The only difference with the three sizes is the width of the stone, the height and the length are equal. (200 na 400)
3. The size of the stone doesn’t affect the number of pieces you need for your project as the length of the stone is the most important in construction ama nimewachocha?
4. The size of the stone determines the number of stones that can fit in a particular truck
5. The color off the stone does not determine it's hardness. Some people say, "Khaki is hard" "Black is hard" It is not necessarily the case, but you will never go wrong with a Khaki if you are not sure.
Sasa hizi ni tonnes ngapi hapa?
Na KeNHA watafurahia kweli?
The construction project was perfectly planned—
drawings approved, budget aligned, schedule locked.
It only failed because the one person in charge of coordination assumed coordination would coordinate itself. 🏗️😄
For an engine to work properly each component has a role to play in collaboration with other parts. The same principle applies to systems. Their effectiveness depends on how well those parts interact and support one another. When one component is weak, missing,
This is like an old engine running on worn-out parts — if maintenance and updates (roles and technologies) are ignored, the entire structure becomes Defective. A country going to a nuclear war with a Fork.
Note: this tweet is not about engines.
My controversial opinion is that there is absolutely nothing wrong with this
Someone studying a highly technical skill like engineering should make more than someone who can read a lot of literature
The culprit are the colleges that made you believe that these skills are equal
