On Tuesday, Paul was driving down I-5 near Fife when he saw a white SUV cut across THREE lanes of traffic and start bouncing off the concrete divider...

Over and over.

He pulled up next to it and looked inside.

The driver was out cold, eyes rolled back in her head, completely unresponsive at highway speeds.

In the backseat he saw a TERRIFIED little boy strapped into his car seat.

"Somebody had to do something."

So Paul did what almost nobody would do: he used his own car to gently pin her SUV against the barrier and slowly squeezed it to a stop.

He slowly and carefully... glided her car to safety.

Then he jumped out, threw the car in park, got the little boy to safety, and stayed with the mother until EMTs arrived.

Paul was on his way to pick up his wife's BIRTHDAY CAKE when all this happened.

He sent her pictures from the scene as proof he wasn't making up an excuse for being late. 😂

"Had to have proof for my wife."

When asked why he did it, Paul didn't hesitate:
"God put me there to do that, I knew I was going to stop this vehicle no matter what."

Genau das ist der Grund, warum immer mehr Menschen das Gefühl haben: Der Staat schützt nicht mehr die Opfer. Er verwaltet nur noch die Täter!!! 🤬

An innocent 72 year old grandfather, Mario Roggero, is being dragged to prison for 14 years and 9 months.

Why?

Because three armed thugs broke into his jewelry store, held a gun to his daughter’s face, put a knife to his wife’s throat, beat them, and tried to destroy his family.

🇨🇳 Three child rapists were executed in China the same day. No hiding it.

China’s Supreme People’s Court approved the death sentences and they were carried out together. All three men had raped children.

The court made the cases public with one clear message: no mercy for anyone who harms a child.

This is straight from Chinese media:

One offender names Zhao ran an illegal education business where he and others abused dozens of underage students. He alone repeatedly raped eight girls, three under 14. Wang and Chen had their own records of targeting the vulnerable over years. The system didn’t drag its feet or offer endless appeals. Justice was swift and final.

The CPC has zero tolerance for crimes against children and there’s no room for debate. It is protecting the future of families and society in the most direct way possible. These executions send a strong signal: prey on the innocent and the state will end you.

Western media goes on about human rights and how no state should kill. The same voices often watch their own systems cycle predators through soft sentences while victims and communities suffer.

China chooses different and prioritises the safety of its children over performative compassion for monsters.

The difference between China and the West is clear. In China the focus stays on deterrence and real consequences for the worst offences. Publicising these cases reinforces the bottom line. Harm kids and there will be no quiet deals or second chances.

This is not new. Beijing has done it before and will do it again when the crimes demand it. It is rooted in practical reality: a stable society protects its most vulnerable first.

Brian Hurton had an aortic dissection, when a tear opens up in the body's main artery, and told call handlers that he was losing his breath.

Die auf Plastik-verpackten Billig-Matratzen liegen müssen, die man keinem Menschen zumuten dürfte. Die in Rollstühlen sitzen, die seit Jahren auf den Schrott gehörten, die unergonomisch und nicht individuell angepasst und einfach nur Mist sind.
Die mit ultra-billigen Rollatoren rumlaufen, die nicht angepasst sind, die quietschen, die wackelig sind und trotzdem von einem Bewohner zum nächsten weitergereicht werden.

Es gibt kaum Programm für die alten Menschen, weil zu teuer. Sie werden in vielen Einrichtungen ausschliesslich vor dem TV geparkt. Niemand hat Zeit, sie mal raus an die frische Luft zu bringen oder sie im Rolli spazieren zu fahren.
Wer keine Angehörigen hat, kann nur hoffen, dass er sehr schnell stirbt.

Aber irgendein Ahmed, der gestern über die Grenze marschierte, lebt heute mit einem Rundum-Sorglos-Paket im Luxus, bekommt gesundes Essen, frisches Obst und Betreuung, soviel er nur möchte. Plus Putzfrau, Fahrdienst, 1st class Krankenversicherung, und so weiter.

On 6ft Dwarves and Casting Decisions

The Lord of the Rings trilogy directed by Peter Jackson remains one of the greatest film achievements of all time. One of the many reasons it works so well is the extraordinary care taken with casting and cinematography to honor the source material.

In Tolkien’s books, Gimli the Dwarf is described as roughly 4 to 5 feet tall. John Rhys-Davies, the actor who brought him to life, stands at 6'1". Yet through masterful use of forced perspective, scale doubles, body positioning, and clever camera angles, audiences fully believed he was a stocky, battle-hardened dwarf. He was one of the shortest members of the Fellowship despite being one of the tallest actors on set. That’s the power of good filmmaking. It sells the illusion without breaking immersion.

Now contrast that with Christopher Nolan’s upcoming The Odyssey.

Helen of Troy is legendary in Greek mythology as the most beautiful woman in the world. She was the face that launched a thousand ships. Lupita Nyong’o is a talented actress, but no amount of lighting, makeup, or camera tricks is going to convince most audiences that she embodies that mythic ideal of classical beauty as described in ancient Greek texts.

Similarly, the character of Sinon (a Greek warrior who plays a key role in the Trojan Horse deception) is portrayed by Elliot Page. In the source material, Sinon is a battle-tested soldier. Page’s physique and presence read more like a scrawny teenager than a hardened Greek fighter. Again, no clever cinematography can bridge that gap convincingly.

These are not small nitpicks. Irrecoverable miscasting shatters immersion from the very first frame. Peter Jackson never asked audiences to “just accept” that the tallest guy in the Fellowship was also a dwarf. He made it work. Modern blockbusters increasingly seem to abandon that standard and replace it with “just accept it.”

You get what you tolerate.

The movie will probably still do decent business because it’s a Nolan film, but it could have been a universally beloved epic if the casting served the story instead of other priorities.

Skip the hate-watching. Just don’t go. Voting with your wallet is still the most effective message Hollywood understands.

Lord of the Rings set the bar on costume design and intricacy to such a degree that I don't think it will ever be surpassed.

They included details on the underside of the armor and costumes that will never be seen on camera because the designers wanted all the costumes to not just "look" authentic... but ACTUALLY be authentic in their entirety as if they existed in Middle-earth.

They said they wanted to include it so that it rests on the actor's chest to help him feel the regality of a king.

Other examples, like Gandalf the white's costume, had detailed undershirts with Elvish embroidery and patterns... details that, for the most part, never had any screen time.

Just like Aragorn's knife that only had 3 seconds of screen time, that obsession over detail is what made the LoTR trilogy look insanely good.

Today, Rings of Power looks like a cheap imitation in comparison... and The Odyssey is just like Temu trash.
