#fourthgraders were given a problem (3x13) & no other instructions to solve. These are just 2 of the strategies I was able to capture (got too excited talking to the kids! 🤣) Gotta love what kids will do when left to their own devices! #iteachmath@MsTracyJohnson#mathcoach
Students in #fifthgrade were struggling with comprehending the context in math problems. So we took the pressure off of solving and sorted situations based on clues in the problems. Also threw in some vocabulary of #product and #quotient#iteachmath#mathcoach@HcpsYates
@korytellers I got some and I had to wear a mask during exam and such but they did let me take my mask down to try on different styles. They had bins out for glasses you had touched but weren’t going to buy so they could clean them. They were limiting people in the store
We love to see it! “Represent 9” was the task, these are some of the responses. Different strategies they’ve learned and applying equations for add to and take from they learned this week! @MissHGrimes@HcpsYates#iteachmath#firstgrade#openended
Popped in to watch a #firstgrade#numberroutine and boy did they show out! Love the flexibility this teacher gave them with the task, and loved the different ways we saw and the conversation kids were able to have! #iteachmath@HcpsYates

A #numbertalk is one of my favorite things to do in classrooms, especially in the beginning of the year. So much conversation to be had, so much math freedom—I ❤️ it!! #iteachmath#mathcoach@HcpsYates
I was SO anxious to get back into classrooms!! I offered up some quick #math mini lessons or read alouds to introduce myself to the kids and our new teachers. This #firstgrade visit was too fun! #iteachmath#mathcoach
