As EU and Western Balkans leaders meet today in Tivat, Montenegro, there is a unique enlargement momentum.
To seize it, the government in Podgorica must engage in a genuine cross-party dialogue and EU leaders must find the political courage to deliver.

As Montenegro takes center stage in Europe by hosting the key EU–Western Balkans Summit, progressives gather in Podgorica to demonstrate their support for its goal to become the next EU member and for enlargement as a strategic investment in peace, democracy, stability and prosperity.
Montenegro, you can count on us!
Big moment for Montenegro!
EU leaders are gathering here, and so are we, the progressives.
With real dialogue, broad consensus, and political courage we can make Montenegro’s EU bid a success, proving that enlargement - Europe’s peace project - is a reality, not just a promise.
Resnica slej kot prej pride na dan. In prav je, da javnost vé, kdo je ob trenutku odločitve kako glasoval, kdo nekaj govori in drugo dela ter kdo je na pravi strani zgodovine.
Pokončna drža @strankaSD 👏

When discussing the European future of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we must unequivocally reject all narratives that fuel ethnic divisions, deny genocide, glorify war criminals, or promote fascism.
This includes the chanting of the Ustaša salute “Za dom spremni" at Marko Perković Thompson's concert.
@MatjaNemec
Janez Janša has returned for a fourth term as Slovenia's prime minister.
After securing support from a fragile coalition ranging from Christian democrats to far-right populists, Janša is preparing a political agenda that could create new challenges for the EU, argues MEP Matjaž Nemec.
According to @MatjaNemec, Janša "might also seek the removal of Slovenia's European commissioner, Marta Kos."

Freedom of expression took another hit as @FranceskAlbs was added again to the US sanctions list.
The US administration's efforts to undermine international law and silence critics of Israel’s human rights violations should urge the Commission to activate the Blocking Statute.
Pieniędzy z budżetu UE powinno trafiać do Polski i @warszawa jak najwięcej. Kropka.
Łatwo o tym mówić, ale żeby tak się stało, trzeba wykonać konkretną pracę. U źródła. I ja to robię.
Tam, gdzie codziennie żyją i pracują.
News from Slovenia should set off alarm bells.
We’ve seen the modus operandi of Janez Janša:
* a steady shift to the far right,
* the erosion of democracy and justice,
* attacks on journalists, women, civil society, trade unions, and
* open disregard for EU institutions, including this Parliament.
Allowing Europeans to be humiliated, handcuffed, forced to kneel, and abused for bringing humanitarian aid to Gaza is the image of impunity.
The EU cannot remain silent, nor can this Parliament allow it.
It’s hight time to sanction Netanyahu’s government, says @IratxeGarper
Francesca Albanese, the Italian lawyer serving as the UN special rapporteur for the Palestinian territories, has been removed from the U.S. sanctions blacklist after a federal court intervened against the Trump administration’s decision.

Appalled by this video and by shameless Minister’s joy over it.
Wielding power for public theater violates basic human dignity and legal standards. Fascism started with dehumanisation. This is Israel.
True justice demands accountability, restraint, and adherence to moral law.
The EU Commission must present its long-awaited Middle East Strategy, push the Council to suspend the EU-Israel Association Agreement, and reclaim a diplomatic role rooted in international law — with concrete support for Gaza’s reconstruction and state-building efforts in Syria and Lebanon.
Israel’s decision to reintroduce the death penalty for Palestinians is deeply alarming and constitutes yet another violation of its human rights obligations under the EU-Israel Association Agreement.
The crises in the Middle East require EU diplomacy, not continued breaches of international law by the US and Israel.
The war against Iran is illegal, as are massacres in Gaza, de facto annexation of the West Bank, and occupation of Lebanese territory.

We are taking the lead on the introduction of four new taxes:
💶on crypto-assets
💶a digital tax on big tech
💶a tax on extreme wealth
💶a tax on online gambling
Considering a 1% flat tax on the revenues of online gambling, the amount collected could average around EUR 0.4 billion per year!
This is why we proposed a Commission statement on new EU own resources from the online gambling and betting services sector for Wednesday afternoon.
