@TMFScottP You’re saying that the proposal amounts to that there won’t be enough pokie machines to go around. If you blew up half tomorrow would still be plenty, no one would be waiting.
@TMFScottP More machines = more money, ppl have preferred machines esp the casuals - it’s a commercially smart decision to have more. Just doesn’t stop problem gambling. Decreasing machines is what majors suggest gov do when they see the writing on the wall, least worst option for them.
@TMFScottP Next time you are at the local have a look - it becomes very apparent there is no scarcity, it’s not like a finite resource everyone can blow their whole pay check without waiting.
@TMFScottP I love a flutter, everyone has their favourite machines. It’ll annoy punters, some might not spend as much. Which is why they have so much variety but problem gamblers will still problem gamble. Machines are 6-1 to punters there is no waiting or lining up, just variety.
@VoteLewko@Starlink There is zero chance Australian regulators allows a foreign telco into the market. It’s a sovereign risk that foreign country could turn off the tap and there would be no recourse. In partnership with an Australian telco absolutely no issue.
@Lord_Beesus It’s not the trans mardigras. It’s the Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras. They have repeatedly and resoundingly voted for it to remain as it is. Yet others continue to try and impose to include others. Respect their very clear wishes, let them have their day.
@caulk__hogan It was a protest for gay and lesbian people started by gay people. They have consistently voted against adding more groups in. Just let them have their day.
@DirkBermingham@Urban_Immerser@fictillius It’ll be interesting to see because there is no mandated answer it’s everyone make their own choice but the sticker price is the sticker price.
@Urban_Immerser@DirkBermingham@fictillius Saying it’s too early to tell. Could be a huge change and more vendors just let them in to simplify their affairs spread the cost. No change same vendors say it’s not right and don’t allow. Or more vendors say it’s not fair to split AMEX over everyone and dont allow.
@Urban_Immerser@DirkBermingham@fictillius Yep state by state council by council it’s all over the show. Some don’t allow credit cards at all now. I think that bit will definitely change once this goes through.
@Urban_Immerser@DirkBermingham@fictillius Or the same right? Same vendors that aren’t willing to take the cost or pass onto their customers. Not saying you are wrong just it’s too easy to predict exactly how this changes the market or does it just stay the same as now and we have status quo.
@Urban_Immerser@DirkBermingham@fictillius Not sure that’s true. Happens now right some do some don’t? All of the majors, supermarkets, utility providers will. Will the smaller companies or contractors that don’t take now just average across everyone and say it’s the merchant costs passed onto their service? We’ll see
