Na Europa, pesquisadores já apontam violação do Artigo 5(3) da Diretiva ePrivacy, que exige consentimento antes de armazenar software no dispositivo do usuário.

The Alexander brothers site literally smears victims of some of the worst crimes and engages in victim blaming.

The MHJ site shows that the smear campaign extended to NewJeans themselves (thereby targeting a minor) and also the fandom (technically making it a smear campaign against millions of people).

What's scary about this is that this article also speaks about many more sites that weren't mentioned in court. Just how many more victims are there?

This is a genuinely incredible story.

The hottest term on Chinese social media right now is “kill-line”: if you go to Xiaohongshu, Bilibili or Douyin, everyone is speaking about it.

Why? It all has to do with the story of Alex, known as “牢A” (“Láo A”, literally “prison A” where A stands for Alex), a Chinese medical/biology student based in Seattle, USA, who worked part-time as a forensic assistant collecting unclaimed bodies (primarily homeless people).

You’ve doubtlessly never heard of him but he probably single-handedly shattered what remained of the “American Dream” myth for an entire generation of young Chinese.

In late 2025, Alex started going massively viral on Bilibili, a Chinese video platform, for videos where he described poverty in America. He coined the term “kill line” (“斩杀线”) - an expression borrowed from gaming describing when a game character's health is so low one hit will finish them. In Alex’s framing, the concept describes how a single shock (illness, job loss, accident) can push middle-class Americans into irreversible poverty.

It’s hard to overstate the cultural impact he’s had in China. In barely a few weeks, “kill line” became part of everyday lexicon. So much so that even Qiushi - the core theoretical journal of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China - published a lengthy theoretical analysis using "kill line" as its central framework (https://t.co/8VRe3xNj8S).

This never happens. Gaming slang coined by a 22-year-old streamer based in the U.S. does not become the analytical framework for Qiushi, the CPC’s core theoretical journal, in just a handful of weeks. That’s normally not how Communist Party theory gets crafted, to put it mildly 😂. And yet here we are - which goes to show just how powerfully Alex resonated.

It didn’t take long for America to notice - and for Alex’s problems to start.

Due to the staggering resonance his content was having in China, Alex became the target of an extremely vicious doxxing campaign by Chinese dissidents.

He also got targeted by Western media with the New York Times, among others, publishing a piece (https://t.co/dOtHBR6Eu3) identifying him as the origin of the phenomenon which they described - unsurprisingly - as Communist propaganda meant to “deflect criticism of [Chinese] leaders.”

I just wrote an article telling the full story. It ends with Alex escaping to China in an extraction worthy of a Cold War spy novel. Think about how extraordinary this is: a Chinese student fleeing to China for safety, because he feared for his life after being harassed for describing poverty in America.

The core of yesterday’s press conference was this: Park Jeong-gyu’s interview, where he claimed that “Min Hee-jin proposed tampering and I was betrayed”, was a blatant lie fabricated to manipulate stock prices. Yet it’s hard to find a single headline that makes this clear at a glance. Instead, there are headlines that mislead readers about the substance, headlines that make it seem as though Min Hee-jin said things she never even mentioned, and headlines that cleverly dress up words she never spoke.

Legacy media news feeds are flooded with clickbait keywords like “a nationwide scam orchestrated by the family,” “fainting,” “blaming others,” “mother,” “betrayal,” and “divide-and-conquer.” Meanwhile, the names “Davolink” and “Park Jeong-gyu” are either missing entirely or quietly buried. Netizens who encounter this coverage then mock Min Hee-jin, boasting about how “smart” the public is for not falling for her so-called “media play,” ridiculing her as foolish and malicious.

If you’ve followed this case for a long time, you can clearly see which wording and frames will generate the most backlash against Min Hee-jin, which core points need to be concealed, and which parts of the story most easily provoke public outrage. The media moves precisely in that direction. The press conference materials explicitly asked the media to protect the members and to focus on Park Jeong-gyu, a figure tied to stock manipulation. The media moved in exactly the opposite direction.

In that media environment, you also see comment sections with a strangely uniform age-group distribution, perfectly echoing the direction set by the press, while simultaneously claiming they are “not being fooled by media play.” Those comments reproduce complete misunderstandings of what was actually said at the press conference.

Fans are left asking: Is the media accurately conveying the essence of the press conference? If the core issues are hidden and only the most provocative elements are highlighted, leading the public to believe they understand the press conference when they do not, can the media still be said to be fulfilling its role? Why does the media, which shapes the flow of public opinion, move with such consistency in one direction? Who benefits from that flow? And ultimately, who is really engaging in “media play”?

Just one day before the start of the new year in 2026, on December 30, 2025, Min Hee-jin, former CEO of ADOR, was served with a complaint seeking KRW 10 billion in damages on the grounds that she had “led the termination of NewJeans’ exclusive contracts and poached NewJeans through tampering, thereby infringing ADOR’s creditor rights.”

Former CEO Min believed that her relationship with HYBE-ADOR had been resolved and that all NewJeans members would return, and concluded that each party should simply do their best for the future of NewJeans.

However, as ADOR has attempted to dismantle NewJeans by terminating the contract of only one member, Danielle, and has continued attempts to exploit the families of the members in the litigation between former CEO Min and HYBE, concerns over the disbandment of NewJeans have grown, leaving her no choice but to state her minimum position.

With the recent assistance of professional legal counsel, former CEO Min learned that the so-called claim of “Min Hee-jin’s NewJeans tampering,” raised by HYBE management, major shareholders, and certain media outlets, was in fact not her doing, but rather a “stock-market-manipulation conspiracy” colluded between a family member of one NewJeans member and a specific businessperson.

In particular, evidence has been obtained showing that HYBE’s management already knew that the forces behind this alleged stock-price manipulation conspiracy had devised and were attempting to carry out a plan to exploit former CEO Min and the NewJeans members. This press conference has been convened to reveal these facts.

[The Truth About the NewJeans Tampering Allegations]

The dispute that arose in April 2024 between former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin and ADOR’s major shareholder, HYBE, had absolutely nothing to do with NewJeans tampering. Rather, it stemmed from differences in perspective regarding how HYBE’s affiliated subsidiaries should be operated.

At the time, HYBE publicly disclosed the audit of CEO Min, bringing the conflict between HYBE and former CEO Min to the surface, but issues concerning NewJeans’ exclusive contracts or their future were entirely unrelated on HYBE’s side.

However, following former CEO Min’s dismissal in August 2024 and the NewJeans members’ notices of termination of their exclusive contracts on the grounds of management contract violations, a media outlet reported on December 2, 2024, that “Min Hee-jin met with Park Jeong-gyu, said to be the beneficial owner of Davolink, on September 30, 2024,” raising so-called “tampering” allegations. From that point on, the shareholder dispute between ADOR’s major shareholder HYBE and Min Hee-jin rapidly shifted into an issue framed as Min Hee-jin’s “NewJeans tampering.”

In addition, on January 9, 2025, the media outlet TenAsia published an interview article with Park Jeong-gyu, who referred to himself as the chairman of Davolink. In the article, claims were circulated such as: “Min Hee-jin discussed ways to take NewJeans away,” “I received a request from CEO Min for a 5-billion-won investment,” “CEO Min had plans to acquire Davolink,” and “she made crude remarks, calling Chairman Bang a ‘pig XX.’”

Through this reporting, former CEO Min was portrayed as having requested an investment from Park Jeong-gyu in order to take NewJeans away.

As a result of the above media reports, the shareholder dispute between former CEO Min and HYBE came to be perceived not as an issue of guaranteeing independent label operations, but as an attempt to fabricate a pretext for taking NewJeans away. From that point on, the narrative of former CEO Min’s “NewJeans tampering” became treated as an established fact, and all criticism was directed at her.

However, the so-called “NewJeans tampering” by former CEO Min was not true and was entirely fabricated. At the time, former CEO Min made efforts to reach a settlement with HYBE regarding the return and resumption of activities of NewJeans, even to the extent of substantially conceding her contractual rights under the shareholder agreement.
From this point forward, we will reveal that the actual tampering was prepared through collusion between a family member of a NewJeans member and forces engaged in capital-market manipulation, and we will disclose evidence of this, including Telegram messages and audio recordings.

● Around June 2024, former CEO Min heard from the father of one NewJeans member, “My older brother has a wide network and strong connections, so if you entrust him with negotiations with HYBE, he will do well.” Although she was skeptical, because this person was a member’s family, former CEO Min received the contact information of the member’s uncle (the father’s older brother) on July 26, 2024. However, this uncle, identified as Mr. ◯◯, failed to produce any results through August 2024.

● On August 27, 2024, former CEO Min was dismissed from her position as CEO of ADOR, and NewJeans’ activities faced the risk of being derailed.

● On September 9, 2024, the member’s uncle, Mr. ◯◯, contacted former CEO Min again. He showed her Telegram messages he had exchanged with Shin Young-jae, a key executive at HYBE, flaunting his personal connection with Shin, and stated that he would “proceed with negotiations with HYBE.”
