@vagheesh@sciencemagazine Thank you for your answer. The BAMs are quite heavy files to download, especially if you need to download 500 of them to identify a small portion of maybe 10-15 of them. I assume the .geno files only contain those mtDNA position that were relevant for PhyloTree?
@vagheesh@sciencemagazine Many new subclades have been discovered since February 2016 when PhyloTree was updated. Only in the W haplogroup there are now more than 300 new subclades which are not listed in PhyloTree.
@vagheesh@sciencemagazine I wonder if the mtDNA mutations of the individual samples will be made available? I made a request about this per e-mail, but no reply. Many of the reported mtDNA haplogroups are a bit outdated since PhyloTree has not been updated in three years.
