The boys have just finished 3rd ๐ฅ in the Victory League National tournament against teams from across Taiwan. The last day, we had to play with no extra players, in midday heat and it was unbelievable how amazing & impressive these lads were and are. โค๏ธ๐ค๐ค
Every single one of these lads were magical today! We came top of the group, to get into the semi finals tomorrow for the U10 Victory League National Finals, in Kaohsiung ๐น๐ผ MFA Taiwan all the way! โค๏ธ๐ค๐ค
Looking forward to presenting at the Premier League Conference at Old Trafford on Thursday
Privilege to be asked to share my work around individual skill development with so many other top practitioners.
I think they should make two different coaching licences for each level.
1. Step 1 - only for managing 1 match a week.
2. Step 2 - if you will be expected to manage more than 1 match a week.
Imagine a professional manager needing โmore experienceโ before they are ready to manage a team for 2 matches a week.
So how does Michael Carrick get more experience to manage a Champions League team? ๐ค
Oh. Maybe manage a Champions League team? ๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ
Kids & youth football is no joke. We have the opportunity to make a difference in young human lives.
Constant reflection & evaluation helps to improve in areas we can do better, & always remember (me included), every word & action has the potential to set positive or negative vibes.
The reality is there is a lack of individual coaching at all levelsโฆ Players simply donโt get the chance to practice and refine those game changing moments.
Thanks to Steven Caulker for the invite to talk about Individual Development on his podcast.
How do challenges of coaching kids / youths in tournaments & games compare to coaching adults and pros?
Coaching any type of player and team should be challenging. Thatโs why we are needed. And we must be ready ๐ฏ

Many coaches will say on their CV โadaptableโ, but can you look like youโre shouting at U9 girls whilst playing a line breaking pass on a rainy evening in Taipei?
Having an academy with teams from U6 to senior team and girls only teams from U9 to U14 ( Taipei Breakers), there is a world of experiences waiting to develop your โadaptabilityโ on a daily basis ๐คฉ๐
MFA U10 v MFA U9 today in a league match in Taipei. It was an exciting game
My U10 team had a player less and because I can sometimes be a normal thinking human, I put conditions on our players to make it a good learning experience for both teams.
๐คฉ Thanks Coach Luis!
Today we arrived, did our ball mastery and went straight into small sided games. Happy faces all round and MASSIVE amounts of play time! (Including the scissors, paper, rock in the background ๐คฃ๐คฃ)
