@TheeNelDog@IISwitchII My point is even if you have the data, it’s probably a small enough dataset that you couldn’t draw any conclusions from it. The most predictive stat is always the one with the largest relevant sample
@TheeNelDog@IISwitchII It’s definitely cherry picking to compare him to those full time players.
Doesn’t mean he’s going to fail against every good pitcher though, which is what I was objecting to
@TheeNelDog@IISwitchII All that WRC+ is saying is he has provided more value per plate appearance since that date than any hitter with a lower number.
It’s not a forward looking predictive stat, it’s simply telling you what has happened, and you acting as if it’s predicting the future
@TheeNelDog@IISwitchII In the sample that switch provided, yes he has been better than all those hitters, not more valuable, just more productive.
I have an understanding for variance, so I know that is on the high end of outcomes for him, and would expect something more like a 125-130 going forward
@TheeNelDog@IISwitchII Google the terms “sample size” and “variance” you obviously have a complete lack of understanding for both.
According to your line of thinking the guy with the most HRs in a single postseason falls under the same category
@patmakesart People like “he just wants to win a Stanley cup”
Well it just happens by complete fluke that the majority of the top contenders for years have been low state income tax teams WOW
@MarinerMenace@bye_bye_blew_it It’s not even the park factors, it’s how his pitches move at elevation. No need to have him learn a skill he will never need.
If it was just small parks I’d agree send him to AAA
@BsblBets@Deltad1mes Nah you are good enough I know you aren’t trying to fake a little bit of extra edge. I’ve just passed on some stuff that’s 10-15 cents off from what you post, only to see it move a lot more.
You have to consider how much the piggyback helps the bullpen as well. There isn’t a single bullpen for a good team that isn’t a bit overworked for the stretch run.
I don’t think they are that far off from Bryce getting more run and Castillo being a pure innings eater for us. If they go back to piggyback after these 2 turns I’d be surprised if Bryce isn’t the one starting
@GregCutler82@PodcastDoesnt I’d agree with you if my goal was to purely maximize every win this team can get this season, but I think it’s smarter to have the kids down where you can manage their workload easily all season, then call them up as pen arms like you want them to be for the playoffs.
@lankyrob6369@PhillipsScottA@MarinersONTap Eye test people are the worst, they will not watch 99% of baseball that occurs and make sweeping conclusions based off what they see with no realistic baseline to compare it to.
And yeah if you’re a deterministic thinker, I have to be arrogant because it means youre a bold idiot
@lankyrob6369@PhillipsScottA@MarinersONTap 8th most runs in the MLB since the start of last season since you don’t believe in weighted statistics (or just have an aversion to truth). Are you saying that only 5 or so teams don’t have a pathetic offense?
@lankyrob6369@PhillipsScottA@MarinersONTap Why don’t you go and convince a multi billion dollar organization that they are wrong and they should hire you then? Or maybe you just an arrogant idiot that wants to pretend to be smarter than everyone and uses it as an excuse to be unwilling to learn
