My friend (a person of color) and I just stopped at @Starbucks. The staff was polite to me, but they insisted my friend needed a STICKER on her receipt (which they hadn't included) to get a refill. If this is the way Starbucks treats POC, I want nothing more to do with them.
@ForceofLightEn1 Haven't seen it, and many liberals also say it was poorly written. But I think her reference to conservatives is about those objecting to the social themes it dealt with. Those folks probably wouldn't be comfortable with the movie Philadelphia either, for example.
@BrandyZadrozny I thought perhaps other outlets might be concerned about tangling with the feared litigators from the legal department of Naussany Investments ;)
@LiamRMcGuire Cimino's the prime mover, but Roy's made clear he's fully aware of and endorses Cimino's conduct. I do not know if the same goes for Gerry; he likely saw my tweet, but the truth has to come from fellow pros he knows and trusts, like Gail Simone, who weighed in on this elsewhere.
I grew up reading @gerryconway 's runs on Spectacular Spider-Man and Web of Spider-Man. I hope he has done his due diligence in choosing to be represented by John Cimino. If not, he should speak to more fellow comics pros to get a sense of Cimino's reputation.
@bendreyfuss@DailyMail On one hand, hard to argue mocking trans people, women, etc is just a difference of opinion, particularly when folks paid $300 to hear him talk about a movie, not to be subjected to a bigoted rant. On the other, he's your dad, so I can't imagine how I'd feel in your shoes.
@realmikefox Michael, do you realize that millions of people across the world truly love you? Your performances, and demonstrated grace in the face of adversity, bring joy and hope, particularly in the times it is most needed. I really, truly hope you are aware of that.
@azalben No business guy either, but I'd think putting out word of zero conversations, at least until you make a decision, might also have some merit, regardless of the outcome.
@TheBatmanalyst@JamesGunn It was in a response to a recent tweet where yet another person accused him of "lying"... as though reality remains unchanging for all time!
IIRC, @JamesGunn has said that while that was the case at the time, for reasons he is not at liberty to get into, the talks took a different turn and here we are.

What's odd is what @JamesGunn said before Affleck's update.
"We're working with Ben Affleck, who really wants to be a part of our architecture team trying to bring things together. And he really wants to direct one of our projects and we're looking forward to him doing that."
@JAMALIGLE I actually do feel that way, but don't complain, because I realize the fact that comic books are more appealing to kids than they are to a 43 year old is actually *the way it's supposed to work*. Now excuse me while I go watch Matlock.
@ScottAdamsSays Maybe this is a weird rhetorical game deliberately juxtaposing "Treat everyone as an individual" with "If you're offended by the views of some percentage of a skin color, avoid everyone of that skin color", but that's too optimistic. If this is a game, I hope it was fun.
@lincodega What's to stop Hasbro from designating any work they want to stop for any reason as "hateful"? Someone trustworthy and independent of Hasbro must be the sole authority to make those calls, and the agreement has to bar Hasbro from taking any legal action until that call is made.
Hi @drmattdambrosio -- people in this Reddit are claiming you disliked Henry Cavill and supposedly tweeted/deleted negative things about him. Can you put that rumor to bed, as you did with the "writing staff doesn't like the source material" claims?

@elonmusk It's like slowing down to watch a car wreck. But unless you're an insurance company or a body shop, you probably don't want your product associated with a wreck.
