With many places to go for comics, how do you like to read yours? Digital or physical? If you could, could you also explain why?
I'll be honest, for me (@MattB_Sulos) I dont mind either way. Physical has a great feel to it and but Digital allows me to zoom in and admire the work.

Some of my biggest regrets in comics was listening to people I surrounded myself with say that certain ideas I had were lame, stupid, and childish (mostly due to a generational gap in their understanding).

The lesson? Do what works for you. Don’t let others make you feel bad or put you down for the ideas you have.

Just do them.

Trust me. This community doesn’t have your best interests at heart

Before finding @nubguy (Michael) I had a lot of the same problem with those around me. Either that or they would support in the meaning of the word but not go any further.

The Rooster That Didn’t Crow

Story by Jeremy Lott

Robby the rooster was a cocky fellow at the start of our story.

He wasn’t cooped up on some farm like the kind of chickens you may be familiar with. He lived on an island in the Caribbean Sea called Cayman where chickens and other fowl run free. They run on sidewalks, on beaches, and even through restaurants.

The roosters on this island have loud, bright feathers. Their plumage is shot through with colors: fiery oranges, bright and deep dark reds, blues, and black with green highlights.

Robby might have been then most colorful rooster of them all, so he had a lot to crow about. And boy did he ever. He crowed at the dawn, of course, and at sunset and lunchtime and happy hour. There didn’t have to be an occasion. He crowed whenever he felt like crowing.

Robby often hopped up on top of the sun loungers that the resorts put out and crowed from there. He also led a crowing circle in the wee hours of the morning. He and a bunch of others would come together while it was still dark and let it rip.

One morning, however, he crowed a whole lot less loudly than usual. His voice was scratchy from all that late night noise making.

“Cock-a-doodle-” Robby began, and then coughed a few times.

“Cock-a-” It was no use. More coughing.

Gus the grackle saw this and spoke up.

“You should go easy, rooster,” Gus said.

Robby usually ignored advice from other species. But this was different. Grackles are small black birds with bright yellow eyes that have very loud calls. Some people simply call them yip yip birds after one of their many calls.

They are not quite as large or as loud as roosters, of course, but they sure know how to make themselves heard. Robby respected that.

“Ho, little grackle, why do you suggest I stop crowing?” Robby asked.

“Not stop, just slow down, man. Time it better. Your constant crowing is really annoying the humans,” Gus warned. “If the humans lose their patience with you, other noisy birds will suffer.”

“But the humans love it! When we crow in the dark hours, they often yell, ‘Shout up, roosters,” Robby said.

The grackle shook his head.

“You’re not hearing that right, rooster. In the daylight hours, they shoo you away,” Gus said.

“That’s just a little game we play, called ‘tag the rooster,’ to get my exercise,” Robby said.

“Just last week, didn’t a little girl corner you in the restaurant with a broom, after you crowed during grace?” Gus asked.

“All in good fun, grackle,” Robby explained, though he wasn’t so sure.

“Why do you crow all the time? It’s like you’re screaming, ‘I AM ROOSTER. HEAR ME ROAR,’ every ten minutes. It’s too much,” Gus said.

“But it’s a rooster’s JOB to crow,” Robby protested.

“Maybe you could do that job better by crowing less. You could at least keep your voice that way,” Gus said. Then, sensing that he had said enough, he flew away.

That left Robby with a lot to think about. Lunchtime came and went without him crowing. He hopped up on a lounger but simply looked at the sea and the people and all the other birds on the beach.

Happy hour went unannounced by Robby. He didn’t even bother with the crowing circle in the early morning. Nor did he crow with the sunrise, or all of the next day.

Come sunrise the third day, Robby was quietly watching.

“Ho, rooster. Enjoying the view?” Gus asked.

“Oh hello, grackle,” Robby said. “You know, it’s different when you’re watching the dawn rather than crowing at it. There are so many beautiful colors up there, like great big feathers in the sky. No wonder the first roosters crowed at it.”

“How’s your voice?” Gus asked.

“It feels much better. I could crow now. Just not sure if I should,” Robby said.

“You should. Roosters are nature’s alarm clocks, and that is certainly a sunrise worth celebrating,” Gus said.

The grackle felt he had said quite enough and, again, flew away.

Then Robby the rooster took a deep breath and lifted his head to cock-a-doodle-do.
