Activists from @fossilfreeLDN disrupted a Republican Overseas UK dinner in Windsor celebrating Donald Trump’s state visit. The event took place at the Guildhall, just minutes from Windsor Castle where Trump is being hosted by King Charles.

Protesters chanted “if you drill baby drill, how many will you kill?” and held banners reading “oily money kills” before being removed. Some were slapped and punched by attendees.

Director Robin Wells said Trump’s fossil-fuel agenda could “kill billions”, citing warnings from the insurance industry that climate breakdown could leave almost half the world’s population dead by 2050.

The protest comes as the UK government prepares a decision on the Rosebank oil field, and days before a mass London demonstration against Trump’s visit.

UK finalizing multibillion-dollar deal with Elbit Systems

The UK is reportedly preparing to finalize a £2bn ($2.69bn) deal with Israel’s biggest weapons producer, under which it would train 60,000 British troops annually.

Elbit Systems, which supplies about 85 percent of Israel’s drones and ground-based military hardware and has been a key supplier of arms used in the Gaza genocide, is at the center of the deal.

According to Private Eye, Elbit Systems UK is on the verge of securing a major agreement that would designate it as a "strategic partner" of Britain’s Ministry of Defense.
