@brettmccracken Brett, thank you for posting something about this movie. I have been hunting for thoughtful Christian engagement with no luck. It feels like a great setup for Gospel conversations. So, wrote a review myself. I know this is untoward, but https://t.co/5FEDwSXGeY
Hey @AmericanAir I just got off flight 1582 from #TUS to #ORD. That crew made this the best American Airlines flight I’ve ever had. Bonuses and high fives all around. #creditwherecreditisdue
Locked On Steelers – Daily Podcast On The Pittsburgh Steelers got my top spot. More in my #SpotifyWrapped. @CarterCritiques thought you should know. https://t.co/67GwD0zzhj
@JordanPeele do you feel like a genius with the design aesthetics of Nope, in light of the Chinese surveillance balloon? Suddenly a lot more ominous of a movie for most Americans, no?
I got an email from my #USCongressman updating me on the #partisan politicking he’s been doing, but what I really want is a vote on S.623 #sunshineprotectionact. It’s held at the desk, just bring it to a vote and do some bipartisan good for country. Makes me yearn for @Fwd_Party
@LaslosLessons@RaisingBlack@AndrewYang I’m not sure that the current political climate encourages centrism. Media outlets—especially on the right—push extremism radicals. Watch Tucker Carlson for five minutes and you’ll notice centrism isn’t a Fox News goal. Now centrists are leaving both parties. What should they do?
@unknownuserz024@RaisingBlack@AndrewYang Additionally, both the RNC and DNC have lobbied against third party candidates and ranked choice. Not because of differences on policies, but because it creates options that weaken control. Funding anti-democratic behavior is also not what I want my money to do.
@unknownuserz024@RaisingBlack@AndrewYang If I understand the party. Yes. That’s plausible. However, the DNC has donated about a million $ to MAGA candidates in GOP primaries this year, as a strategy to win/retain seats. I don’t think us donors would have ever thought their money would go to that…
@RaisingBlack@AndrewYang Maybe it’s idealistic to imagine a left-center black woman from Detroit & a right-center white man from Colorado involved in the same party. But that’s also American government. Both should be able to co-exist & serve people knowing that their civility ensures future democracy
@RaisingBlack@AndrewYang From what I understand, it is a protective party that stands for (funds and protects) candidates anywhere in the middle-ish. The point is less about protecting ideology and more about providing space for candidates that generally reflect the community they come from.
@RaisingBlack@AndrewYang I’ve heard the term “different kind of party” a few times in these discussions, and I wonder if it’s more like a microcosm of the U.S. political system. In that people of different opinions and backgrounds come together to guide the nation. The common glue is love of democracy.
@AttyshannonD@heywillconway@ikg_agent 3. Lastly, with an early emphasis on local elections, if the FWD party does decent national fundraising, they can funnel that extra money to local campaigns where a couple grand goes really far. Long term sustainability will come from successful campaigns. Self perpetuating.
@AttyshannonD@heywillconway@ikg_agent Not to step on toes or rudely butt in, but this is a fascinating discussion and I’d love a crack at this question. 1. Lots of companies fund candidates based on foreseeable benefits (one of which is stability) a moderate-ish candidate is often stable, so corporate $ should exist
@AttyshannonD@heywillconway@ikg_agent 2. with 3/5 Americans saying they’d consider voting for a moderate 3rd party, donations from individual sources should be readily available as well. Considering the most effective grassroots campaigns often thrive on donations that are less than $200, the #FWD party should be 👌🏼
