U.S. Air Force officer adopted baby girl 53 years ago—now ICE wants to deport her to Iran.

Being a Christian & daughter of U.S. military—sending her to Iran is a near certain death sentence.

Her birth certificate names both legally adopted U.S. citizen parents—she has Real ID & social security card.

Congress passed a law in 2000 to grant citizenship to people who were legally adopted from overseas—but it did not apply retroactively.

"It just, to me, it's a broken promise to return somebody that two governments made an agreement to give an orphan a home," she said.

"And I feel stateless. Iran was not my home. I left when I was 3 years old."

The woman is awaiting her next court hearing later this month—where she will most likely be detained & deported. #DemsUnited
