This morning my team and I visited Ward 1 schools to welcome students to their first day, support our families, and ensure kids were safe during arrival. It was amazing to see the outpouring of support from the community and everyone who showed up for our students.
Another part of “what unions do” is to provide a disciplining mechanism to remind their membership to keep their eyes on the prize, votes-wise (see eg. race/civil rights from ~1940 - ~1970).
