Absolutely huge congrutulations to Khadija Sarife and @PeterKGeoghegan on winning the Paul Foot Award for their work on the Labour Together and APCO scandal, and how it targeted myself, my family, my colleagues at @ShadowWorldInv1 including @andrewfeinstein, as well as journalists like @Gabriel_Pogrund who also suffered APCO and Labour Together's scandalous attentions.
Khadija deserves huge credit for her incredible work developing this story, working for years with sources and operating in extreme conditions. Peter's coverage in his brilliant DemocracyForSale was instrumental in breaking the story wide open and exposing how the Labour Together/APCO scandal went to the very top of the Labour Party.
I have written multiple times about the Labour Together and APCO scandal, and I won't repeat myself endlessly here. But what I can say is that Khadija was instrumental in alerting me to the scale and content of this scandal, which allowed me, my family and my colleagues to take proactive measures to defend ourselves and our reputations. I am forever grateful for her and Peter's work.
@johnmcdonnellMP has recently called for a full Parliamentary inquiry into the Labour Together Project; a call I wholeheartedly endorse. Having recently seen new documents, and new disclosures, I can tell you all that this story is going nowhere.
Well done to @PeterKGeoghegan and Khadija Sharife for winning the @PrivateEyeNews Paul Foot Award — and revealing a conspiracy which for some time succeeded in suppressing scrutiny and defaming not just Sunday Times reporters, but those without the same resources to defend themselves including, above all, Paul Holden @StarmertheFraud.
He was trashed for supplying us with bulletproof documents which posed a question which years later has still never been answered: why did the entity which made Keir Starmer leader fail to declare hundreds upon thousands of pounds when it had been told it needed to?
The alacrity with which Labour ministers and MPs rightly scrutinise, for instance, Farage’s finances strangely still eludes them on this. Still some grumble about the supposed factual identity of Starmer’s adversaries — and in so doing, either inadvertently or otherwise give oxygen to many of the report’s lurid claims.
Which is why fearless journalism was the only remedy. Peter and Khadija recognised that and the whole fourth estate is fortunate they did.
And a final word: only a few of us know the sacrifices some people have made to bring this information into the public domain. Thank you to them — and let’s all remember that, according to Hansard, at least one source is being hounded by Apco, the appalling firm behind the report.
Last night, Midas attended the @PrivateEyeNews Paul Foot Award for investigative and campaigning journalism 2026.
Congratulations to @PeterKGeoghegan and Khadija Sharife of Democracy for Sale on their win and to all of the honorees and shortlisted journalists!

Yesterday we met Gareth Peirce in London to present her with something small from us.
As she said to us walking into the Royal Courts of Justice a few months back:
"Don't be fooled by the fine architecture, this is where many great miss carriages of justice take place".
She made sure that wasn't Mo Chara - a legend 👏🏻💚🤍🧡
