.... by tradition, the monarch must pause at Temple Bar to request permission to enter the Square Mile. If the boundary on the north side of the road is actually at Chancery Lane, should he/she actually pause there, rather than at the Temple Bar memorial? 2/2

I always thought that the Westminster/City boundary was at the old Temple bar memorial, where Strand becomes Fleet St, but it's not quite true. The northern half of Fleet St is in Westminster as far as Chancery Lane. How did I never notice this? It raises a question... 1/2
