@LuckyMLData@povieee@jon_wertheim@Wimbledon Her reward for making the French Open final, is the life changing prize money, the huge jump in her ranking, and everything that comes with that.
Why does it also mean the reward extends to being in the first round of Wimbledon when her ranking doesn't warrant it?
@tennisweeklypod I understand WCs for tournaments that barely make a profit.
Those WCs ought to be for players that will sell tickets, improve sponsorship deals and drive TV numbers.
If you have a WC at a major, then it should be for someone that has a chance of doing something, i.e Goran.
@Paul36742@matthewsyed But what if there was a female Brit in the final or when Serena Williams made the final.
How does that impact UK and US TV audiences?
Global TV rights make up half.
Also, not the women's fault they're not allowed to play Bo5. Should they be penalised forever?
@matthewsyed Wimbledon TV rights for men and women are sold jointly.
Women play Bo3 but those that buy tickets and watch on TV would rather watch Raducanu than James Duckworth.
Match courts up until the QF have men and women scheduled, so how do you know who fans paid to see?
@TennisBlogger1 How does she do that because I have seen points where Kostuk was patient and then Andreeva redirects a backhand down the line and gets Kostyuk on the stretch.
@pavyg I suspect she would like them to condemn the numerous war crimes by the Russian state.
Targeting specific power stations during the worst of winter.
Kidnapping approx 30,000 children and then indoctrinating them.
Mass bombings on civilian areas.
@MarieBell626390 Yes, but that can't be their only qualification.
Ultimately they have to be a good candidate and that should extend beyond what's written on their CV.
