The Celtics want to surround Jayson Tatum with depth and role players, not to bring in another star to split shots with, per @SeanDeveney.
Boston’s likely targets are Herb Jones, Keldon Johnson, or "players of that range."

@Savageboston From what I understand he fits into the TOE and the Celtics would have to send out roughly 19 mil in salary. That’d be Hauser, Walsh and another player
The more I read/think about this Jaylen trade the more I am coming to terms with it. What I won’t get over is it being Philly, but from a cap/team build/analytical and draft capital standpoint it all makes sense
The Celtics now have enough assets to pursue Trey Murphy III, per @SIChrisMannix
“The Celtics can spin that the pair of first-rounders they picked up have value. And they do. The 2028 one will likely end up as the Clippers’, who are beginning a rebuild with an Aspiration-sized anvil over their head. The ’31 pick is Philadelphia’s and, hey, who knows where the Sixers will be in four years. Boston has kicked the tires on Pelicans forward Trey Murphy III, sources say. This deal gives them more assets to pursue him.”

BLOCKBUSTER: The Boston Celtics have agreed to trade Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers for Paul George, two first-round picks and two second-round picks, sources tell ESPN.
With Mitchell Robinson and Mike Conley in the fold, the Celtics are at 15 players on standard contracts (including Chris Cenac). I've got Boston at $3.5M over the tax and $5.1M under their first-apron hard cap (triggered by signing Robinson with the NTMLE).
That's enough flexibility for other moves this summer.
Free agent center Mitchell Robinson has agreed to a three-year, $47.4 million deal to sign with the Boston Celtics, with a player option in third season, sources tell ESPN. Robinson departs the Knicks after serving a key role on the historic championship team.
Free agent guard Mike Conley Jr. has agreed to a one-year deal to sign with the Boston Celtics, sources tell ESPN. Conley becomes only the 14th player in NBA history to reach 20 seasons.
