It is pride that allows you to crawl up out of your own hole & condemn others. I’m talking about being preoccupied with criticizing the sins of others. That’s hard to do when you’re overwhelmed with your own.

This is Jim Thorpe. Look closely at the photo, you can see that he's wearing different socks and shoes. This wasn't a fashion statement.
It was the 1912 Olympics, and Jim represented the U.S. in track and field. On the morning of his competition, his shoes were stolen. Luckily, Jim ended up finding two shoes in a garbage can.
That's the pair that he's wearing in the photo. But one of the shoes was too big, so he had to wear an extra sock. Wearing these shoes, Jim won two gold medals that day.
@JustinPetersMin@DennisMSwanson1 Not to mention, there is always a new generation being duped… I can’t possibly understand the argument, “we did this 20 years ago,” or even 10. MANY new disciples have been added to the faith since then, and they would never even think to look for “tapes.”
So I am at Walmart scanning and bagging my almost $300 worth of groceries while the employee "monitors" and then this happened.
Her - why are you double bagging all of your groceries?
Me - excuse me?
Her - you are wasting our bags!
Me - if you don't like the way I'm bagging the groceries, feel free to come on over here and bag them yourself.
Her - that's not my job!
Me - okay, then I will bag my groceries how I please if that's all right with you.
Her - why are you using two bags?!
Me - because the bags are weak and I don't want the handles to break or the bottoms to rip out.
Her - well that's because you are putting too much stuff in the bag. If you took half of that stuff out and put it in a different bag then you wouldn't need to double bag.
*10 seconds of me just staring at her.
Me - so you want me to split these items in half and put half of them in a different bag so that I don't have to double bag.
Her - exactly.
Me - so I would still be using two bags to hold the same number of items.
Her - no because you wouldn't be double bagging.
*me pressing two fingers to my left eye in an attempt to make it stop twitching.
Me - okay so here I have a jug of milk and a bottle of juice double bagged. If I take the milk out and remove the double bagging and just put the milk in the single bag and the juice in that single bag I'm still using two bags for these two items.
Her- no because you are not double bagging them so it's not the same number of bags.
*me looking around at about 10 other customers who at this point are enjoying the show.
Me- is this like that Common Core math stuff I keep hearing about?
Her- never mind you just don't get it.
And with that, she went back to her little Podium so she could continue texting or playing games on her phone or whatever it was she was doing before she decided to come over and critique my bagging skills

“COVID-19 lockdowns were ‘a global policy failure of gigantic proportions.’ …The draconian policy failed to significantly reduce deaths while imposing substantial social, cultural, and economic costs.”

Ugh. When we were in NYC the private schools were lying to parents about secret gender manipulations of kids. Now it’s becoming policy for the publics too. These are very dark days. https://t.co/Tji1G2hRyx
Modern man is in a terrible predicament.
He is helplessly enamored with the beauty of what the old world built yet despises the beliefs that inspired them to build it.
…and 1,964 stabbing deaths so far. The weapons aren’t to blame. The problem is the degradation of our culture because society has embraced values & worldviews that openly encourage expressions of human depravity.

Christ is the only salvation. Acts 4:12.
“In a world in which emotivism rules, those whose language tracks most closely with the emotional temperature of the time inevitably present the most persuasive arguments, even if they are not really presenting arguments at all.”
— Carl Trueman
The latest controversy w/ Dr. MacArthur makes me think...
Judas: “Jesus is corrupt.”
Contemporary Evangelicals: “Jesus needs to repent! Judas is so brave.”
No wonder the late R.C. Sproul called on us to stop calling ourselves, “Evangelical.”
