@slithersloth I feel like for some movies too, when the receiption gets so toxic, it becomes a story that snowballs into an avalanche. Borderlands and the Crowe remake suffered similar fates there
@slithersloth I think the first movie came out at a perfect time in the zeitgeist, both culturally and for the superhero genre. I’d argue its support has waned over time.
The general malaise around most superhero movies now I think is the biggest culprit here.
Alyssa Thomas called out the hate that Sun players have faced from the Fever fanbase, saying she’s never experienced these type of racial comments before:
“It’s uncalled for, and something needs to be done, whether it’s them checking their fans, or the league.”
HBO‘s DC series #Lanterns has found its Hal Jordan in #Emmys winner Kyle Chandler who's set to play the legendary member of the Green Lantern Corps in the series https://t.co/6nH6U3QLyO
George Clooney says that no film is “worth” working with a “miserable fuck like David O. Russell.”
“The older you get, time allotment is very different," he said of selecting projects now. https://t.co/Gcl72YWwr6
@BillBrasky2620 I think embracing the horror angle is beneficial compared to Prometheus and Covenant being more esoteric.
I’m predicting 28-31 mill opening and then crawls it out to 95-110
@AKlay19@BillBrasky2620 I think that 15th window was just too crowded for something like this. I don’t foresee it being a big hit but it’ll do respectable having the stage to itself.
I have issues and nitpicks, but there are no good reasons for WBD to have not screened #TrapMovie for film critics. All it did was create a pre-release impression that the clever, pulpy, enjoyable three-star programmer was far worse than it actually was.
