A goblin hydromancer named Rialto the Rainmaker, hired by Bert, the bugbear farmer to help water his crops in a drought. I like imagining a world where people help each other instead of fighting.
One last sketch...a mummy and his pet spider. I need someone to write me a comic story about this mummy.
Also I drew this because everyone needs a friend. Tell them you love them. Life really is better together.
From the sketchbook, a giant angel mummy. I've been drawing a lot of mummies lately. I think it's because I like the fun of drawing the bandages but, more personally, because I've also been struggling with acceptance of death and I like that mummies live on.
Inquisitive bugbear is asking "Why does the wealthiest nation have so many people living in poverty and starvation?" And I would like to know that too, bugbear. Could there be vast systemic problems that urgently need to be addressed? Hmmmm....
Thank you for reading. For being friends. For lightening these burdens of mine with your own emotional labor.
I need to accept this. The body I have. The time I have. The life I have. Not there yet, but working on it.
Today, on the darkest day of the year, I am working on the idea of acceptance.
A good friend reminded me that acceptance is the final stage of the grieving process. I'm still not there, but maybe today is a step closer.
I love my partner so very much. Every second with them is a beautiful gift. And I'm struggling with acceptance of the fact that those moments are also finite.
It's so hard for me. I can feel the tears in my eyes as I type.
From my sketchbook series of Greek mythology Titan drawings, this is "shining" Phoebe. She's the sister of and consort to Coeus as well as the grandmother to sun god Apollo, moon goddess Artemis, and witchcraft goddess Hecate. My inspiration, hilariously enough, was Mariah Carey.
Today I learned that the members of Creedence Clearwater Revival were not born on the bayou but were in fact born in California and I feel very lied to.
