Thoughts that run through my head while people watching at the gym.
Look at the patterns their movements fall into… are those the only patterns available to use or does the human body afford more?
Some pulling patterns we have been exploring outside of our compound lifts involving the spine, scaps moving, the hips and rotational/anti-rotational elements.
- Hanging Rotational Reach
- Single Leg Hinge with Cable Row
- Two Up One Down Row
- Single Leg Hinge Dumbbell Row
Overlooked functions of the foot:
•Foot movement requires coupled actions (I.e. DF = pronation + eversion)
•The foot functions in a spiral manner, where we see reciprocating actions across segments
•Loss of spiral motion = ⬆️ joint stress
•Foot COP dictates muscle activation
Hitting these 2 Subscap Triggerpoints can unlock shoulder ER very quickly
It is common to feel pain in the back of the shoulder when applying pressure
It is also important to address Scapular Insufficiencies that may lead to Anterior Shear forcing Subscap to work overtime
