Rockies owner Dick Monfort says the team had somewhere between 20-30 people reach out about the President of Baseball Operations job when it was posted after the season
Dick Monfort has not thought about firing a GM that has won 0 division titles, misread his talent, and failed to repair a broken relationship with one of the best players in baseball.
So Rockies GM is either the best job in baseball, or the worst, depending on your worldview.
Baseball's history is consistent. There are always franchises that are there in the standings but aren't actually present. The Browns, the Senators, and for years and years, the Cubs and Phillies. Total non factors. That's the Colorado Rockies, a nonfactor due to incompetence.
I think Nolan Arenado no longer playing baseball for the Colorado Rockies is a signal of total organizational failure, one that smart people would analyze to ensure that it won’t happen again. I don’t get the sense that the owner and GM see it the same way.
Nolan Arenado: "As a kid, you dream of winning a World series, and that's still the dream now. To join this organization, they care about winning and about getting things done, and that's really exciting." #Rockies#Cardinals
