A cute photo but a deeply sad backstory. This is an orphaned bear cub that sits high in a tree, above the body of its mother that was hit and killed by a car 2 days prior. Animal rescue was en route when I took this. I hope the little one does better now. #catskills @NYSDEC

New York City wildlife never ceases to amaze me. A barred owl in the middle of midtown Manhattan in @bryantparknyc! Unfazed by hundreds of people enjoying the park. Loud traffic. Sirens. Surrounded by tall buildings. This owl was right at home #birdcpp
