Solidarity. Congress clearly wanted this settled and was sympathetic to UNITE’s demands. And to allow recall HE sector Congress lost to a Unite strike day. Failure to resolve the dispute leaves a big gap in policy-making and accountability.
During ACAS talks today, attended by UCU's General Secretary & President, yet again no tangible offer was made that could move us to ending our dispute. Of much greater concern is a risk of escalation after the employer suggested pausing our recognition agreement.
