Quick update: Y'all, I had no idea that 'Beautiful Life' was the song I needed to hear today, but it sure was. @switchfoot seems to have really knocked it out of the park this time!
“If Satan took over Philadelphia, all the bars would be closed. Pornography banished. Pristine streets would be filled with tidy pedestrians who smiled at each other. There would be no swearing. The children would say, yes sir and no ma'am, and the churches would be full every Sunday where Christ is not preached.” - Michael Allen

It’s crazy how possible it is to oppose racism without requiring yourself to be racist.
Mind blowing, really. Almost like all nations, tribes, and tongues are to submit to King Jesus, and it is a blessing to worship alongside other ethnicities as one heavenly Kingdom.
It's really not complicated--BLM/CRT/Southern Poverty Law racism has no place in the church. Hitler/Patriot Front/Curse of Ham racism has no place in the church.
It's almost like God does not judge by outward appearances or by group designation but by the heart.
@XtianCommute I think that's a fair point, and I'd be fine with it. A second (probably biased because I'm so close) might be St. Louis or Kansas City, since they're so geographically central within the US. But I'm sure if you looked at a map of SBC churches it's going to largely skew south.
@megbasham He won’t. And blood will be on his hands. I hope they don’t spill it. But I fear things are really boiling over, and time is running out to stop it.
The SBC’s decades-long unwillingness to be clear on the role of a pastor vs a director vs a leader vs an etc is now resulting in people who actually don’t know what it means for a church to not have a female pastor. We have disrespected the biblical offices for far too long.
@CalvinistGoku@BaptistLeaders I wish there was a way to see how many voted no because they wanted women pastors, and how many voted no because they didn’t think the amendment sufficiently prohibited women pastors. But I’m confident there was a sizable mix.
@A_DrewSmith@lady_bee_brown I’m confused. Isn’t the whole badness of back room deals because it’s being done…in the back? Without the approval of the public? But this wasn’t approved by the public. Front room deals seem far less shady to me.
@BrianBranam@albertmohler I think part of the problem is the notion of a “Children’s Pastor” in the first place. There is no such concept of segmentation between pastoral roles in Scripture. And if a pastor and non-pastor role can have the same job description, something is up with their view of officers.
