The damage this - 2 misspellings of a football superstar's name - does to @MLS's credibility is significant. The US is growing as a footballing (โฝ) nation. But it's still too easily mocked by outsiders due to the lack of attention to detail. Maybe this summer will change that?
Iraola should excel at Liverpool. Finished the season brilliantly with Bournemouth following a challenging November-January.
Should be allowed time to bed in. But, as we saw at Spurs, good managers don't always get that. His reactions and words will be key.
๐จ Liverpool reach verbal agreement with Andoni Iraola to become head coach. Set to sign 2yr contract (same as #AFCB deals) & wants Pablo de la Torre, Tommy Elphick, Shaun Cooper, Tom Webber on staff. #LFC plan to present 43yo by end of week @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/uYB8DBzOWR
๐จ Negotiations underway between Real Madrid and Denzel Dumfriesโ camp as itโs the favorite destination of the right back.
Liverpool are also keen since January, even without Arne Slot.
โน๏ธ Release clause worth โฌ20m and not โฌ25m, as revealed today.

@11thommo@daviddownie17 I agree with the final part of that, Neil But my point stands. Everton. - a great old club with nine league titles and an ineffective recruitment record is aiming higher. Longest run without a league title in its history. It can't sell unless it has a superior option lined up.
@11thommo@daviddownie17 For what?
Huge over-achievers with brilliant models. But also three clubs who've spent more time in Leagues 1 and 2 (and former versions of those levels) than the top flight across their histories.
Would be just if European leaders showed a little back bone and stood up to Putin. I am talking 'armed response'. Yes, the result could be dreadful, but how can we continue to allow this to happen... In this and other countries? Disgusting.
Last night, dozens of Russian missiles and drones attacked Kyiv. Once again, thousands of people packed the subway stations, seeking safety while Russia targeted them in their sleep.
The tragic toll so far: 5 killed, over 60 injured including three children. And these numbers continue to rise.
This is the fifth year of the full-scale invasion. More than four years of relentless terror, not just in Kyiv, but across the entire country. Every single day, russia proves it is the worldโs biggest terrorist.
To the global community: stop viewing your support for Ukraine as charity. It is not. It is a direct fight against global terror.
If you want to stop this terror, start acting like you mean it. We need air defense, we need weapons, and we need the complete isolation of russia. Now.
Stand with Ukraine. Defend worldโs safety. @Vitaliy_Klychko

Attacking man - as discussed in a shared Everton video featuring Jack Grealish, at the start of the season - wants to see Everton focus on attacking, even in training. This remarkable player is right to wait. #Ndiaye#Contract#Moyes
EXCL: Everton face a fight to keep hold of Iliman Ndiaye this summer. New contract(s) has been on table for months but remains unsigned
Forward has 3 years remaining on current deal, so #EFC in strong position. Desire to keep key man

@CarrieBrownTV ...And that he (so all involved) didn't know the rules.
Needed to say/shout 'SORRY' - to all of football - at the top and tail of this statement. And acknowledge that what Southampton did was cheating, and that it is unacceptable. Big words, but bigger omissions - for me.
I think it's an okay statement - background and rationale included.
Big issue, however, is the omission of him stating that he understands WHY it is wrong and THAT it is cheating. The sorry could and should have been more prominent.
That said, Saints have been punished.
@joe_thomas18 Good stuff, Joe.
EFC's greatest transfer successes of the last 30 years have come from the Championship. Cahill, Lescott, Jagielka, more. There've been other buys from lower down the status chain (Baines, Coleman, JP), but EFL blends hunger, focus and talent beautifully.
Also Alcaraz at 10 and Gueye, who could be retained as DM cover.
Fans will be pleased with Hackney, but concerns over having no 'attacking' FBs (Aznou not picked), few options at LW, no consistent strikers and leaky CBs are dominating following a poor end to the season. #EFC
Reliable source stating Everton are leading the race for Hayden Hackney.
It doesn't get much more David Moyes than Hackney. Hard working, disciplined, good under pressure and quite physical. Very similar to James Garner. But happier further forward. That said...Won't add goals.
Everton are working on a deal to sign Hayden Hackney from Middlesborough. The 23-year-old is attracting strong interest from several Premier League clubs, but Everton are working intensely to convince Hackney that Merseyside is the right step in his career ๐ต
Everton are strong in the CM positions with
Garner (genuine England squad option), Iroegbunam (excellent tackler who needs to improve passing), Rohl (runner who can play at 8, 10 or RW), KDH (8 deployed at 10) and the surpremely talented Harrison Armstrong (again, an 8 or 10)...
It's often forgotten James had to bide his time to get a sustained run at Man. City, after wowing at Aston Villa. But he went on to underline all he offers. Creativity, determination, technique, dogged workrate and a canny ability to win the ball.
Enjoy your retirement, Millie.
Great statement from a truly great player.
I've had a handful of opportunities to speak with James aka Millie over the years and I m happy to confirm he is every bit as humble and decent as he seems. A shining example for all young footballers, and people. 1/2
