Three men from Rotherham's Snooker For All Academy are heading to Thailand for the World Disability Snooker Championship. We went along to one of their final training sessions before the tournament.

@GoodwinMJ The strange thing about Barnsley, looking from the outside in, is that it's been progressive, forward thinking and delivering real, positive change. Compare that to Rotherham...
@eurotasha Couldn't agree more. What the new show seems to have forgotten was that at its heart #yourefired was a comedy and a light hearted look behind the scenes of #theapprentice. I thought it was slow and uninspiring... And no pressies for the fired candidates either!
@jaceb01@kelvmackenzie I don't think that it's an either or and there is a precedent. Dan Jarvis acted as both mayor of the Sheffield City Region whilst also being a serving MP. He did a pretty good job too!
It's nice to see that someone in the Labour Party has a sense of humour. After the Chancellors decision to break the manifesto pledge, she's been sent to Coventry! @GMB
@bphillipsonMP Disappointed to read this. It was Blair's government which ended student grants and introduced tuition fees and I've never forgotten that. They did it not long after the 1997 election. My final student grant was £42...and I was expected to live on that for a full term!
@10DowningStreet@darrenpjones A few genuine questions. How much is this going to cost the government, how does that fit in with your plans to fill that big black hole in public sector finance you've spoken about, and finally what provisions are you making those without a smart phone?
I'm not sure who is advising the Government on comms, but in a week which has seen cyberattacks dominate the headlines, who in their right mind thought this was the perfect backdrop to announce #DigitalID cards?
Angela Rayner has resigned as deputy prime minister and housing secretary. Big blow to Starmer’s government. This story will develop in coming hours, obvs
@MonkEmma Hi Emma, interesting thread. Can you clarify when these two valuations were made? Do these relate to 2025 data or the 2023 figure mentioned earlier? I am aware that the changes to stamp duty are impacting on the sale of properties valued at over £500k in some parts of the UK.
Today in 1945, George Orwell published a devastating critique of Communism.
Animal Farm reveals why every communist revolution follows the same tragic pattern: liberation to corruption to oppression.
Here are 10 truths from Animal Farm Orwell warned us never to forget 🧵👇🏼
@PaulWhitehous64 Do you get a feeling others could follow? I think it would only take three more resignations for Labour to lose overall control of the council (although it would remain the largest party).
