Hear me out here.
What if we promote Beamer to football GM? He's great at recruiting, he's great at people, genuinely everyone loves him. Offer it as a promotion at the end of the season, same salary, start looking for a new coach now. Hire someone who's way better at Xs and Os and who isn't over player development, and let Beamer help with recruiting. Director of player relations on steroids. Let him do what he's best at while hiring someone to do what he's not.
@MannUrfa Oh, gotcha! Yeah, I don't know. It's more of a wishlist because I hate to lose someone who really wants to be here and who has real strengths
@MannUrfa A tight ends coach with no coordinating experience who can either go be a position coach when he's fired or stay at the school he claims to love in an administrative capacity. That was my thought
@AlexRowlan81635 How much is that on the recruiter and how much is that on talent development? He was instrumental in getting us Marcus Lattinore and Alshon Jeffery amongst others
@Keekeebooks Andrew and Tristan Tate are the lowest form of male scum in the world. They claim that abusing women and being a predator is apex masculinity and the end goal of it all.
The Andrew Tates of the world are half the reason we're in this renewed battle of the sexes in 2026
@RustyB25 I don't see "fight like hell" in our program.
If it happens, I'll post at least as many apologies to Coach Beamer and the players, and I'll screenshot my Garnet Trust and Gamecock Club donations.
Those are both fair argument points and I need to think about them. The one thing I do know is that the only sex offender not in danger of referencing is a dead one.
I appreciate you explaining your logic/perspective. I'm not sure I agree with the conclusion, but I need to think it through.
@WilGunter And this is a real question. I don't know if SEC media share money is what the long game is or not. It might be a stupid idea to leave and I'm open to hearing that, I'm just curious on the why/why not
So question: what about moving to another conference? Which is more important to program health, being in the SEC and "it just means more" but having an 8-5 season with no shot at conference championships, or being in a "lesser" conference like the ACC but playing against teams where 9-3/10-2 is a reasonable expectation, which gives us playoff chances? We'd never win a basketball conference title ever, but we don't do that already, and we'd still be pretty baseball-dominant.
So "all the men in that specific situation", which makes sense to me.
It's still a case of words mattering and generalizations being counterproductive to what is wanted and needed, especially for such an important social situation.
I was sexually abused as a child by a man in my church growing up, but to look at my case and some of the other cases that have come to light and say "All Christians" or "all Southern Baptists" isn't accurate. It FEELS accurate but it's not.
Beats me, and I'm pretty sure I said that the men who stood around idly were just as complicit. I'm not letting anyone off the hook, but I'm very much saying that "yes all men" is bullshit and you can only say that so much before men in general are just going to ignore the issue entirely.
@BexWords@JustIndianaGirl If you say "yes all men" because "just enough men" make it a social problem and not a personal one, don't expect any men to make it a personal responsibility when it's been determined that they're the social problem.
