@JVMonte2 Supertramp rules. I'm mostly a punk/glam/new wave guy, but I saw Styx in middle school and I'm still trying to find that awesome t-shirt I (my mom) bought. Styx is another one of those bands that isn't really in my typical algo, I suppose, but they are GREAT
R.I.P. Tom Skerritt. He was 93?? WOW. So many great movies. Always just somebody ya liked being there (even when he was playing the antagonist).
My dad's had a mustache since I was born, and I swear, they make ya look older when you're young, but then they circle back around.
Sometimes they ask you, as you're dying in the hospital, what song you'd like to hear. I think I'd start with "Hey Jude." A famously long song. Then, as it fades out, I'd go with "American Pie," and then just keep going with long songs so as to not die.
I think the 'Mats only had, like, ONE hardcore song. Like, half a song. I dunno if they were trying to do Husker Du, but the pop sensibilities still shine through so much, it's like, you're not a hardcore band. You're The Beatles. You're a pop band. The best pop band.
@TreatmentB Heck yeah, I've got that 45! But my absolute favorite song of theirs - and of ALL-TIME - is "Thayer Street." (Oddly enough, it does NOT appear on the record of the same name!)
@cyanidetooth Alright, alright, I was still glad to see guitars I guess. And you're correct about not being alive yet! I don't even think my parents had met yet, re: Fear. (Now THAT woulda been a ruckus)
I wish I could explain Misfits lyrics to, like, my family. They're horrific, but it's a goof! Like, people love Michael Myers, but if he was real, we'd all beat the shit outta him. Horror stuff is fun because it's a goof. Doesn't hurt that Danzig has a Roy Orbison-level voice
