Nothing beyond normal myopia. I was told it was random – and the beginning of it was painless, so it can creep up on you. Began with some new floaters ON MY BIRTHDAY so I wrote it off as a sign of aging (only a serious problem in a small fraction of cases – well, I turned out to be one of the cases). I knew it was an issue when I saw a tiny dark flash (in the corner of my one eye, like a black crescent moon) if I triggered it by looking the other way. I'm glad I got looked at right away.
