That doesn’t mean you suck. Yes, Tech was an Omaha team and one of the best teams in baseball this season

After a mostly roughly 15 years there - making far fewer postseasons overall in the time period - and home regional failures in 2018 and 2019, they’ve now won a 2nd Regional in 3 years. It simply can and should be done.

You can’t blow an 8-2 and 7-3 lead on back-to-back days with your best pitching staff in 15 years, your best offense ever, playing at home where you haven’t lost two in a row..

And call it anything but a choke. It’s the name on the front, not the ones on the back, at this point.

For a program of this caliber - or the caliber it should be - only advancing from 3 or 4 Regionals over 20 years would be quite disappointing. To have zero is nearly unfathomable, a veritable Bingo card of finding ways to lose. The truer the fan…the more cynical one becomes.

Georgia Tech biggest chokers in college baseball. So many good/great teams there over the years but haven't won a regional since 2006.

Arkansas is so much better than Oklahoma, and Kansas stared them down twice at home.

West Virginia had to play an extra game and stared down Kentucky twice at home facing deficits. Another.

Cal Poly, Troy, Little Rock, St. John's ... we have new blood in the sweet sixteen. Everyone has a chance in today's college baseball. You don't have to have the incredible facility and NIL budget. You can do this with the right people and right commitment

That’s the thing. Every host has crappy Regional weekends, even heavily favored ones.

But FSU won Regionals the last 2 years have won 12 of them in the time period GT has 0.

UGA has been a relatively bad program for 15 years, yet they’ve won 3 Regionals.

Zero is unfathomable.

@yesh222 20 years, and if I broke down each loss for you anecdotally, there would be no real way to make sense of it. The average to bad SEC and ACC programs have won 3 or 4 of these in the time period.

- blows an 8-2 and 7-3 lead on back-to-back days
- after not losing 2 in a row at home all season long
- to fail to win a Regional for the 20th consecutive season.

Somebody explain to me how that isn’t a full-on curse.

Your Evansvilles, the Murray States, Binghamton, UTSA, UCSB, Stony Brook, Kent State, Davidson, VCU, C of C, all these places have in recent years.
