Do you have ugly stains on the rubber window seals and trim panels of your Tesla?
I just fixed it on one of my Tesla cars, and the result looks factory fresh again.
I grabbed a clean microfiber cloth, sprayed some WD-40 on it, and wiped the stained areas. No heavy scrubbing or special cleaners, just steady wipes, and the oxidation, grime, and streaks melted away in seconds.
The rubber now looks deep black, glossy, and brand new, exactly like the day it left the factory.
This trick works amazingly well on Teslas but is just as effective on other cars too.
Why WD-40 works so well:
• It cuts through baked-on environmental buildup and oxidation that normal washing can’t touch
• It restores the natural oils in the rubber, bringing back that rich, supple look
• It leaves a light protective layer against future UV damage and dirt
Quick tips:
• Always spray the WD-40 on the cloth, not directly on the car
• Fold the cloth as it picks up dirt to avoid smearing
• Work section by section (one door at a time)
• Finish by wiping excess with a dry cloth
It took under 2 minutes per side, and the car looks way cleaner and more premium. Super simple, cheap, and effective.
If your Tesla (or any car) has tired-looking rubber seals, give this a try. You’ll be impressed with the difference. Would love to hear if it works for you too!
I noticed that on 14.3.3 when my Model Y pulls into a space is when it doesn’t do well but when it backs in it performs flawlessly. Anybody else experiencing the same thing?
@royce_james Yeah if you hold down on the video the post video option comes up. Originally if you did this the original creator didn’t get any credit for it but I believe that changed.
One of them is right off the coast of California and you could actually spot it on Google Maps before it was blurred out. Don’t ask me how I know this.
@KelleyToons Only thing I can think of make sure cameras are clean and the window. Maybe even do a camera recalibration. Your cell service could also be a factor. If it sucks it won’t work.
Actual Smart Summon Test #25. While it was successful towards the end the vehicle hesitated for a second while it was turning to pick me up and I’m not sure why. Maybe the sun hit the camera just right?
@scottbuscemi Mine went up like $30. Nobody can beat Progressive when it comes to Cybertruck insurance. It was crazy cheap considering it was a $100k truck.
@SawyerMerritt@Tryangle To put this in perspective the eastern border is near Manor Texas which is roughly 30 minutes outside the center of Austin which is crazy for an unsupervised vehicle.
@scottbuscemi I’ve posted about insurance before and I’ve seen it vary. The main people that scream that all Teslas are expensive to insure don’t own one and read that off of Reddit. I’ve had a lot of people in my comments saying their insurance actually went down switching from gas to EV.
