Being an unpaid carer to adult in hospital means:
– Nowhere to cook, refrigerate or heat food
– Can’t go home, can’t bring meals in, can’t get out to buy food.
– Carer’s Allowance gets stopped after several weeks
- no blue light card
But yep, still doing 24/7 care…

Paid carer only has to do 7 hrs work a week & they’ve earned more than an unpaid carer gets paid for doing a min of 35 hrs care a week

Paid carer £85.47 p/wk for 7 hours work (min amount)

Unpaid carer £83.30 for min 35 hrs a week (remember 47% unpaid carers do 90 hrs + a wk)
