I am standing to be your next NASUWT general secretary. I want to win for the heroes in our classrooms.

I am proud to be backed by your NASUWT national executive: chosen by teachers for teachers. I am proud to have a record of winning pay rises, maternity benefits and pension disputes.

Your vote will arrive to your home address, please make your voice heard.

If you would like to keep up with my campaign and help build a strong, united and outward looking NASUWT then join my whatsapp group here 👉 https://t.co/HUqmdaMlyp

I spoke to TES this week to tell them my priorities which are delivering on the promises I made to members throughout my campaign.

We will challenge the government on Ofsted, on pupil behaviour and on maternity rights. Together we will win.

Shameful a charity like @NorfolkMind is paying qualified counsellors, trainee rates of pay.

Sick of exploitative bosses too?

Union members can shape the future of teaching and of education. By getting involved and active in our union you can make the profession better and more secure.

[Matt Wrack @MattWrack]

I’m proud to have been elected by teachers across the country to represent them.

We can build a stronger @NASUWT and that begins with empowering our members in the union and in the workplace.

Great to join so many trade unionists on the megapicket this morning standing shoulder to shoulder win Birmingham’s bin workers.

If the movement continues to come together, we can win this dispute.

[PCS - the civil service union @pcs_union]

Three general secretaries. One united front.

Matt Wrack (NASUWT), Sarah Woolley (BFAWU), and Fran Heathcote (PCS) stood shoulder to shoulder this morning at the mega picket in Birmingham, backing the bin workers and sending a clear message:
The trade union movement is united, determined and fighting for justice.

[Matt Wrack @MattWrack]

Tomorrow we’ll be showing solidarity with Birmingham’s bin workers.

No worker should face an £8,000 cut to their wages. An attack on one of us, is an attack of all of us.

Thanks to @strike_map for organising another megapicket!

[Matt Wrack @MattWrack]

I’m proud to announce that I have been elected the next general secretary of the @NASUWT.

We need to win for teachers now, more than ever. Let’s move forward a united, powerful union.

[Matt Wrack @MattWrack]

Tomorrow the NASUWT general secretary election closes. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who voted and campaigned for me.

Our campaign has put workload, maternity rights, pregnancy rights, fighting misogyny and challenging unfair inspection regimes at the top of the agenda. Whatever the result, I am proud to have run a campaign that said clearly that these issues are vital industrial issues. We can campaign on them and we can win.

I am proud to have represented the NASUWT as the acting general secretary and honoured to have met so many members in schools, on picket lines or at conferences. It was a great pleasure to have spoken on behalf of you all at the the Durham Miners’ Gala.

I hope I continue to represent you all, but having seen so many strong, powerful activists I know that this union will face up to all challenges and build strength in the workplace and across education. It will always be the activists, not those at the top, who define the success of the union and we have inspiring NASUWT reps across the education sector.

Thank you for all your support.

[Matt Wrack @MattWrack]

We are aware that some members who did not receive ballot papers contacted NASUWT for replacements. Replacement ballots should have now been posted out.

Please remember to vote.

[Matt Wrack @MattWrack]

It was an honour to speak on behalf of the NASUWT at the Durham Miners' Gala.

I delivered a message that we will not tolerate the rip off of public services, we will not tolerate the attacks on our members' rights and we will not be silent. Together we are committed to build a stronger union.

[Matt Wrack @MattWrack]

It was an honour to represent the NASUWT at the Durham Miners’ Gala yesterday. Listening to the brass band, the enthusiasm of members as they marched through Durham, and seeing our flags and banners made me immensely proud to be part of this union.

[Matt Wrack @MattWrack]

Our end of Miners’ Gala gathering is all booked up!

If you have booked but do not intend to be there please let us know ask we can free up space.

Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!

[Matt Wrack @MattWrack]

It’s Gala time again!

Thank you Carol for such a great endorsement.

I know that together, with a united, outward looking NASUWT, we can win for teachers across the country on the issues of maternity, forced academisation, workload, pay, pensions and so much more.

Together we can rebuild education.

[Matt Wrack @MattWrack]

Thank you Zoe for your backing.

I am proud to be leading a campaign that has put maternity and pregnancy rights at the top of the agenda and has given priority to challenging misogyny in schools. Together we can win on these issues and rebuild education.

[Matt Wrack @MattWrack]

Thank you to Matt for your backing. I am proud to be putting forward a plan to modernise the union and build on the brilliant work of Patrick and the thousands of activists that have made the NASUWT what it is today.

I know we can rebuild education and make a sector that rewards and respects teachers. Let's do it together.

[Matt Wrack @MattWrack]

Thank you to Matt for this endorsement. It was great to meet and discuss the key issues facing the profession recently.

Thank you for all the work you are doing in Cardiff for teachers.

[Matt Wrack @MattWrack]

Listen to Shambhavi’s endorsement 👇

It means so much to have the support of members like yourself. I know we can rebuild education and make sure the profession is properly rewarded and respected.
