THE HOCKEY SEASON IS HERE. 🐙❤️🤍

AND I AM OFFICIALLY ENTERING MY COMPLETELY UNREASONABLE RED WINGS FAN ERA.

I DON’T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT LAST SEASON.

I DON’T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT WHAT THE EXPERTS THINK.

I DON’T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THE STANDINGS.

I DON’T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT WHO’S SUPPOSED TO BE BETTER.

I DON’T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT EXPECTATIONS.

I WANT HOCKEY.

I WANT LITTLE CAESARS ARENA ROCKING.

I WANT RED WINGS JERSEYS EVERYWHERE.

I WANT THE OCTOPUS ON THE ICE.

I WANT THE GOAL HORN.

I WANT “LET’S GO RED WINGS” CHANTS.

I WANT DETROIT HOCKEY BACK.

THERE IS SOMETHING DIFFERENT ABOUT HOCKEY IN DETROIT.

Maybe it’s the history.

Maybe it’s the banners.

Maybe it’s the legends who wore that Winged Wheel.

Maybe it’s the fans.

Maybe it’s the fact that when the Red Wings are rolling, this entire city feels different.

Whatever it is—

I’M READY.

I’m ready for every faceoff.

Every power play.

Every penalty kill.

Every ridiculous bounce.

Every huge save.

Every overtime thriller.

Every game where I’m convinced we’re going all the way.

And yes, I’m going to overreact.

A LOT.

One preseason goal?

STANLEY CUP.

One incredible save?

BEST GOALTENDER IN THE LEAGUE.

Three-game winning streak?

CLEAR THE PARADE ROUTE.

I KNOW.

I KNOW.

LET ME HAVE THIS.

It’s preseason.

We’re undefeated in my imagination.

EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

And that’s what I love about this time of year.

Everybody starts at zero.

Every team thinks they’re capable of something.

Every fanbase has hope.

And every Red Wings fan gets to look at this team and say:

“WHY NOT US?”

Why can’t Detroit make noise?

Why can’t this team take another step?

Why can’t we have one of those magical seasons where everything comes together at exactly the right time?

Why can’t Hockeytown be rocking deep into the spring?

I DON’T KNOW.

BUT I’M GOING TO BELIEVE UNTIL SOMEBODY GIVES ME A REASON NOT TO.

That’s what being a fan is.

You don’t wait until everything is guaranteed.

You believe before it happens.

You show up before the banners are raised.

You wear the jersey before the celebration.

You watch the first game because maybe — just maybe — you’re watching the beginning of something special.

And I WANT TO BELIEVE.

I WANT TO BELIEVE IN THIS TEAM.

I WANT TO BELIEVE IN THE YOUNG GUYS.

I WANT TO BELIEVE IN THE VETERANS.

I WANT TO BELIEVE IN THE COACHING.

I WANT TO BELIEVE IN THE GUYS WHO ARE GOING TO BECOME HOUSEHOLD NAMES.

I WANT TO BELIEVE THAT DETROIT HOCKEY IS BUILDING TOWARD SOMETHING.

Because when the Red Wings are good, Detroit is a hockey city in every possible sense.

And I want that feeling again.

I want the city buzzing on game day.

I want people arguing about lines at the bar.

I want kids wearing Winged Wheel jerseys.

I want the arena packed.

I want playoff hockey.

I want that nervous feeling in April.

I want May.

I want June.

And eventually?

I WANT THE CUP.

But that’s later.

Right now?

It’s September.

It’s preseason.

It’s optimism.

It’s hope.

It’s unreasonable confidence.

It’s me looking at the schedule and already planning my life around Red Wings games.

So LET’S GO.

Bring on the hits.

Bring on the goals.

Bring on the rivalries.

Bring on the drama.

Bring on the long season.

Bring on Hockeytown.

Because I’m ready to ride with this team from Game 1 all the way to wherever this season takes us.

No guarantees.

No promises.

Just belief.

And honestly?

THAT’S ENOUGH FOR ME RIGHT NOW.

DETROIT RED WINGS HOCKEY IS BACK.
