Even though it’s hard, I still want to interact with people. I want people to still talk to me and treat me the same, even though I am a little different. I sometimes use a device to help me talk. It takes me longer, but please give me time, I’ll get there.
It’s been three years since my stroke. The day of my stroke, I was at home and started talking funny. I went to the hospital and they gave me a clot-busting medication. Then, I was flown to KU Med in Kansas City and I had surgery to remove the blood clot. I was doing much better
Now, I continue to receive therapy. I have trouble using my right arm and speaking. I can read small items. I really enjoy keeping up with social media even though I can’t always comment on my own. I still have brain damage that makes it hard to have conversations.
I’m old enough to remember when he coached, when his voice on TV implied “this is the most important game of the week”, and to have owned Madden football games since 1993. #RIPJohnMadden
Speech is still hard but getting better. He still has trouble getting the right words out but new things happen everyday. It’s a slow road, but worth the travel. Thanks to everyone that checks in on him, it’s appreciated.
Today marks two years since Matt’s stroke. He wanted to post an update. He is doing well, he is still taking speech therapy and getting Botox to try and loosen up the muscles in his right hand so he might be able to work with it and get some use back.@HeatherZiph@MichaelZiph
