Finally figured out the digital art thing! It still doesn’t feel as satisfying as painting but when I need to whip up a custom design for a friend quickly it’s definitely nice to know I can.

Indigenous peoples in North America’s ancestors arrived into the most central, land locked areas of the country 15 kya.

At first, I was also excited, but now I just feel icky with the racial caricature of Indigenous people. Zahn is Lakota, and yet he is voicing an allegedly "Aztec" God? Olrox is praised for being sexy but isn't this furthering the romantic "ideal" of what an Indigenous person is?

True Crime stories like @coffeehcrime and @BaileySarian honestly have inspired my writing immensely and help me stay out of the box when it comes to communicating research.

That said, one story that I haven’t seen covered that needs to be shared is that of Anna Mae Aquash.

@coffeehcrime My Nokomis told me her fight. My mom took me to AIM protests before I could walk. I remember see her name sprawled on posters and shirts. Her story, alongside all the other #MMIW and #MMIP across the world, is why I fight to stay in this Ph.D.

@coffeehcrime With the epidemic of #MMIP gaining more and more visibility and effort its important we tell there stories with respect to the fights, journeys, and communities whose hearts they remain deeply tied too.

Annie Mae’s story is one I remember my Nokomis telling me about.

Also, if anyone wants to customize this print I’d like to add other skin tone options for the hands. These nuggets just match my friend.

@HKNorton Oooh! Plus the beautiful bergamot! She’s one of my medicines I use pretty regularly for my PTSD. Plus a good emergency option for food poisoning because it is a really powerful antibiotic (so make sure you take your probiotics after).
