🇮🇳 INDIA'S CRYPTO CRACKDOWN JUST TOOK ANOTHER STEP.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized over ₹3.35 crore worth of cryptocurrency while investigating a large online investment and work-from-home scam.

Here's what investigators found:

• Searches were carried out at 19 locations across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Srinagar.

• Fraudsters allegedly cheated victims out of nearly ₹15 crore through fake investment platforms and work-from-home schemes.

• The money was reportedly routed through mule bank accounts and shell companies before being converted into crypto.

• The crypto was then moved across multiple wallets in an attempt to hide the money trail.

• ED also seized ₹14.5 lakh in cash and froze bank accounts holding more than ₹40 lakh.

According to the agency, one of the accused allegedly played a key role in laundering the proceeds through shell companies and multiple bank accounts.

Cases like this are exactly why regulators continue to push for stricter oversight of the crypto ecosystem.

The technology isn't the scam.

But scammers are increasingly using crypto to move and obscure illicit funds after the fraud has already taken place.
