Known as 'Rebecca's Dad' since 2007. Love everything active & outdoors. Leisure and tourism professional. British Triathlon Technical Official. Ironman 70.3
When a Dutch stag party give the stag his boarding pass just as he gets to the gate and it’s nearly as big as him 😂😂. Couldn’t avoid grabbing a quick snap…
Had a great day yesterday seeing Switzerland from the Glacier Express. We were very lucky to have had so much snow. We saw people skiing, sledging and hiking through the snow as well as the impressive peaks and valleys. Definitely a trip to be repeated.
Today can officially be described as wetter than an otters pocket. Last triathlon officiating gig of the year seeing over 200 junior athletes swim bike and run their way to a medal. Yes I’m soaked but loved every single minute…
Amazing setting to referee a long but great weekend at Cholmondeley Castle triathlon weekend. Over a thousand people competing in 25 different races, from 9 year olds up to a 70 year old. The sun made an appearance which added to the great atmosphere. Camping in my little tent.
Dad’s taxi duty complete taking Rebecca to Anfield Stadium to listen to Taylor Swift. Be rude not to go for a run round both football grounds whilst I wait.
A hot Jubilee Bridge 10k today, first one without stopping in over a year. Long road back from injury continues, nowhere near my best (or even close), but progress all the same.
My first Triathlon since early 2021. The road back from injury continues, slow & steady at West Lancs Tri but I enjoyed every minute despite storm Kathleen showing up 💨 🥉
A whole new level of dad’s taxi tonight. Waiting outside Academy 2 in Manchester whilst Rebecca and her mate go watch some dude I’ve never heard of… I got asked why I was the only bloke in a long line of young girls. My answer of ‘dad’s taxi’ needed no more explaining 😂😂😂.
Took some time out of a family holiday to visit Essex Farm WWI Cemetery in Ypres. Showed Rebecca (who’s 16 years old) that rifleman Valentine Joe Strudwick at 15yrs old lied about his age so he could fight. I find visits to war grave sites interesting and always humbling…
@sommecourt Brilliant picture Paul. Essex Farm Cemetery & Menin Gate for us tomorrow to finish off our half term road trip before getting the tunnel…
