One of the most common questions we get about AI data centers is how much water do they use?

Fair question. Older designs cooled servers by evaporating water and people naturally assume ours do too. They don't.

$IREN's sites are different. Direct-to-chip liquid cooling in a closed loop. Same idea as a car radiator or a fridge. Fill it once and the water just goes round and round.

Over the life of a 200MW site, the initial fill plus every top-up averages out to about as much water each year as 3 households.

Not a town. Not a suburb. Not a street... 3 houses.

Water matters in the regions we build in. Which is precisely why our cooling barely uses any.

I’m 39, I started contributing 6% for the company match in 2010, and set it to automatically increase by 1% every year. My dad on the other hand, never saved a penny. We’ve had discussions about this with my kids to teach the importance of investing. To this day he’ll say he couldn’t afford to. I say he couldn’t afford to not invest. He could “afford” to drink, smoke, eat out everyday for lunch and buy new trucks every 3 to 5 years.

@piovincenzo_ I went through the process of getting an offer from them for research. They just pushed my contact info to a bunch of third parties who made absurdly low offers. The realtors who contacted me didn’t even know who opendoor is. On the upside there’s lots of room for improvement.
