One detail that hasn't received as much attention is that prosecutors also filed a separate motion seeking to block certain defense evidence at trial.

Specifically, they are asking the court to exclude:

1. Testimony from the alleged victim's former boyfriend and three other men.

2. Evidence related to prior sexual history.

3. Evidence regarding alleged "religious-guilt-based limitations on sexual activity."

Prosecutors argue those issues are barred by Utah's rape-shield protections and constitute inadmissible hearsay.
