🇺🇸 🇮🇷 JUST 10 DAYS after the US-Iran MOU… the ceasefire already collapsing?
Fresh attacks today (June 27) have pushed tensions even higher in the Strait of Hormuz and beyond.
Here’s the full picture of military actions by IRGC and US since the June 17 deal:
- June 25: IRGC-linked one-way attack drone hits Singapore-flagged cargo ship Ever Lovely exiting the Strait of Hormuz. US calls it a clear ceasefire violation.
• June 26: US CENTCOM strikes Iranian missile & drone storage sites + coastal radars in southern Iran in retaliation.
• June 26-27: IRGC claims retaliatory strikes on US-linked military targets in the Gulf region.
- TODAY (June 27): Multiple Iranian drones target Bahrain (US ally hosting the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet). Bahrain condemns it as a “flagrant violation of sovereignty” and reserves the right to defend itself.
- TODAY (June 27): Tanker struck by unidentified projectile in the Strait of Hormuz off the coast of Oman (Musandam Peninsula area). Bridge damaged, crew safe, no environmental impact (UKMTO).
Both sides accusing each other of breaking the MOU. Hormuz shipping under threat again.
Is the fragile US-Iran deal already collapsing?
Everyone is asking whether the latest attack near Hormuz means the Iran War is escalating again
They're asking the wrong question
The real question is whether the balance of power in the Middle East has already changed
I call this The Pape Test
Bahrain said it came under attack from Iranian drones, and a tanker was hit while crossing the Strait of Hormuz, as the latest flare-up in fighting extended into a third day https://t.co/hUlOxTtEoh
Are the divisions in the Democratic party real? Of course. But we also heard that AOC and Ilhan Omar would destroy Democrats’ electoral chances in 2018 and we won 43 seats that year and Trump was more popular than he is now.
There are also a lot of denominations of progressives - they don’t all want to abolish prisons. Some want to work with the party like Brad Lander is talking about getting Hakeem Jeffries the gavel. The DSA vs normie Democrat narrative is a big oversimplification.
CNN: A ship attacked in the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran is just showing the obvious here, they are still in control of the strait of hormuz—they can shut it down whenever they want, despite what Trump just claimed
Gavin Newsom has doubled down on his opposition to California's billionaire wealth tax — which just collected enough signatures to be on the ballot this November.
He's wrong to oppose it. Here's why.
Congress passed a bipartisan bill to make it easier to own a home.
The President is refusing to sign it.
Donald Trump doesn’t care about lowering costs for you.
JUST IN: PCE Inflation jumped to 4.1% (y/y) in May -- That's the highest inflation in 3 years and it's due largely to the war in Iran impact.
Core PCE inflation (excluding food and energy) rose to 3.4% --> the highest since fall 2023.
This is painful for the middle class and moderate income Americans.
The monthly gain (0.4%) was a bit softer than expected, but the key will be how fast does inflation cool this summer??
Americans are getting squeezed right now. They are no longer able to save much, if at all.
The personal savings rate has dipped to 3%
This is one of the lowest readings in the past 15 years.
Personal savings rate May 2025: 4.9%
Personal savings rate May 2026: 3%
There's been a downward trend for awhile, though it's been especially sharp for the past year.
The Air Force confirmed with my office that the flu outbreak at the Air Force Lackland Base in San Antonio is getting worse. There are now 275 confirmed cases.
