Making sure every child grows up in a safe and loving family environment is personal to me.
It is great to be working with @BarryKeoghan on reforming children’s social care around the world.
25. Leading with a Limp by Dan B. Allender.
A challenging read about embracing our weaknesses in leadership, vulnerability and trust.
Also an interesting final chapter about the leadership types; King, Priest and Prophet.
In 2022 I shared my goal to read 25 books in the year on here. It was:
- a beautiful way to start conversations
- a useful tool for accountability
- a grand source of recommendations
- a way to remember what I read
So, I’m doing it again in 2024!
Recommendations welcome 🙏
@ChrisMcDougall@alexbellos@wanderingsiz 23. Yellowface by @kuangrf
A fun, modern and smart book with a neat concept.
Listened to this in about 3 chunks with some long work journeys and it was good company.

Great to hear @Keir_Starmer mention care leavers in his speech and set out his commitment to tackle homelessness - 1 in 3 face homelessness within 2 years of leaving care so this is a really welcome step.
Looking forward to attending this at the Labour Party Conf. At @SafeFamiliesUK we continue to advocate for the strengthening of early intervention services.
Join us on September 30th for an exciting evening as we launch the merger of Safe Families and Home for Good, sharing why we believe this decision will see more children and families thrive. 💚
