We found many mutations that wrecked citrate synthase (citZ) of the tricarboxylic acid cycle and led to antibiotic tolerance. Also, several mutations in the stringent response regulator, rel. Lots of within-host evolution going on in these persistent bacteremia cases! Stop #MRSA!
