kicking is standing around practice for 2 hours to hit 12 balls for 5 minutes in front of a coach so preoccupied with scheme that they maybe saw 1-2 reps of.
make them count.
Advice to all specialists who have had a bad day: Be kinder to yourself.
If you had a coach who spoke as harshly to you the way you are to yourself sometimes, you would probably quit.
To be a great kicker means you need to accept you’re human and you’re going to miss and have bad days sometimes despite your best efforts.
If you’re in a hole 🕳️ that’s OK.
You only get out of one the same way you got into one: one single quality rep at a time.
Forgiving yourself for being human doesn’t make your soft.
You don’t get extra brownie points with coach for being the player who beats themselves up the most.
You missed. The world didn’t end.

You can’t force a make to happen. You just do things that make one more or less likely.
