SNY's @chelsea_janes reports the Mets' sale is on.
"As the second half begins Thursday night, it seems the time has come: A rival executive said the Mets informed their team that the sale is on, and that everyone but young stars Carson Benge, AJ Ewing, Christian Scott, Nolan McLean and the obvious, Juan Soto, is available. That doesn’t mean everyone will go. But it means the Mets will listen on just about everyone, which is in keeping with what people familiar with their thinking have signaled for weeks.
That the Mets are fielding calls already suggests they will be spreading out their sell-off over several weeks, rather than waiting until the week of the deadline when the market has settled and time constraints create a more frenetic process."
I think Lindor knows he's priority number five right now on the Mets behind Soto, Benge, Ewing and McLean.
He's not going to have the same authority within the franchise as he used to and knows there's a possibility he's traded in the offseason.
Who is going to want a 32-year-old fielding and hitting below his standard with five years and $155 million remaining?

@punmasterrifkin Agreed on the Bichette point. But I do think they'll try to find a lesser contract to trade Lindor for. But it could be the same money coming back or 10M coming back I don't think there's a certainty on anything there.
@WillAffourtit The team has so many big contracts & such an inflated payroll that they need to cut money. Lindor is the only big money contract that you could trade away without needing to pay some of it to trade him. They aren't contending for a title next year and he's going to be 34 in '28
Given the amount of resources at his disposal, the location advantage of the franchise, and the team he inherited, is this the worst GM job in the history of baseball?
And how did White play in the playoffs? How about Brown?
The contract and whatever locker room stuff that you think comes with him is one thing, but when did Jaylen become this bad player?
"Even though Jaylen Brown was talking about himself for MVP, the Celtics did not feel like Jaylen had the best season on their team…They felt that Derrick White had a better season."

I think the Nets have PTSD from Kyrie and didn’t want to deal with Brown, but the Nets should have matched the picks Philly gave up and offered MPJ.
Jaylen Brown would have been a Net.
BLOCKBUSTER: The Boston Celtics have agreed to trade Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers for Paul George, two first-round picks and two second-round picks, sources tell ESPN.
Been thinking, what’s the best lineup the world could put together right now?
1. Ohtani DH
2. Judge RF
3. Soto LF
4. Acuna CF
5. Kurtz 1B
6. Caminero 3B
7. Lindor 2B
8. Dingler? C
9. Witt Jr. SS
SP The Miz?
Felt really wrong to leave off Yordan Alvarez and Schwarber #mlb
Mendoza never felt like someone who ever wanted to be the bad guy. Bench a player or hold someone accountable after they’ve made constant mistakes.
It’s not entirely his fault, it’s 95% Stearns, but the manager wasn’t much of a help the last 2 years.
"Oh my goodness. One of the worst trades in a long while by the Mets" – Keith Hernandez sounds distraught as he watches Pete Crow-Armstrong round the bases
David Stearns has completely sucked the life out of this franchise. Stripped them of talent, and ripped the heart out with Nimmo and Alonso. I hope he learned the hard way the game isn’t played on a computer.
@AdamSchein Acuff was the worst defensive player in the NCAA last year. Unless you think he’s going to be Steph or Jalen Brunson the world doesn’t end by passing on him.
