I'm sure she values him beyond sex and vice versa since they are still together, but shouldn't he expect more out of his sex life like she does her's?

The problem isn't that nice guys expect sex, it's that they don't calmly move on when it's clear they won't get it.

Real sexuality is expressed with another person. There are many more dimensions of experience to actual sex than there are to porn consumption.
