It often concerns me how quickly we have all seemed to move on... Yet the shadow and impact of the harm to families and staff remains. Some truly moving evidence below from Kevin Fong, Former National Clinical Adviser for Emergency Planning.
Prof @Kevin_Fong giving the most devastating and moving testimony to the Covid Inquiry of visiting hospital intensive care units at the height of the second wave in late Dec 2020.

🆕INTERIM REPORT. Creating conditions for learning from deaths and near misses in inpatient and community mental health services: assessment of suicide risk and safety planning. Read the interim report: https://t.co/0kBKrUi9lB #PatientSafety#MentalHealth#NHS#Healthcare
It’s been 63 years since suicide was decriminalised in the UK. But so many of us still use the term ‘commit suicide’.
Why does it matter? Language that links suicide and crime can increase stigma and prevent people struggling with suicidal thoughts from speaking out.
If we choose language like ‘died by suicide’ or ‘took their own life’ we allow space for open conversations and compassion. Let’s choose our words carefully.

@Janwhe1 It is - my top 3 posts just now were Elon (despite not following him) one of which was Trump hugging a duck and a kitten stood in a pond... truly bizzare stuff in my opinion 😂🤷
Hope you are keeping well in retirement 🙏
